I was wondering what is your favorite old school animated children's TV Special. Everyone out here should remember the old shows we all watched as kids which are still being shown every Christmas. My favorite is a toss up between Charlie Brown Xmas and the Year without a Santa Claus. Heat Miser and Freeze Miser still are pretty cool after all these years!!!!
I always liked Nester the Long Eared Donkey, Charlie Brown and Santa Claus is Coming To Town....and cannot forget Rudolph!
I liked the classic Rudolph, Charlie Brown and Frosty, of course...but I must say the one that seemed to put me more in the Christmas spirit was Twas the Night Before Christmas. That's the show about the family of mice that live in the home of the clockmaker. The teenage mouse offends Santa and the clockmaker fixes the town clock to play a song to regain Santa's favor. The teenage mouse messes up the clock but fixes it at the last minute. For me, the modern Christmas special is The Polar Express, based on the story. It really recaptures that excitement and antipation of a youthful Christmas.
Thanks, Wayne. Mine and now my teen's are Charlie Brown and both Frosty the Snowman. Watch them year after year. Love the holidays, Sherry
That is my fav from when I was a kid. My mom and I used to watch it together. Now I like National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and The Santa Clause.
Watched an updated version of Charlie Brown last night and laughed. Still like the older ones better. I think one comes on tonight. Happy holidays, Sherry
Mine love Frosty, but not Frosty Returns. Rudolph is a close second... They like the Grinch too, but probably the new real people one more than the cartoon now that they are older. Those are all my favorites too. I like Miracle on 64th Street too, the modern version
I guess their not really kids movies, but the two movies I have to watch at Christmas are National Lampoon Christmas Vacation, and A Christmas Story.
