Few Christmas Events questions.... 1) When is the Christmas Parade in Clayton? 2) Do they have a Cleveland Christmas Parade? 3) What time is Santa's Workshop on the 8th at the Civitan in Clayton? Sorry for all the questions but trying to plan and organize where all we are going this year. What a fun time of year. Love it. Anyone else going to Meadow Lights? Enjyou the season and thanks in advance for the answers. Stephanie--mom to 7
Clayton Christmas parade is Dec. 8th. Not sure of the time yet. My daughter will be Marching the the CHS Marching Band (Clayton).
Here's a list of all the local Christmas activities (parades, tree lightings, etc.): http://www.4042.com/cal/calendar.php?mode=cal&date=2007-12-01 Also some updates in our Local News section: http://www.4042.com/Local-News/Stories/Benson-Christmas-Tree-Lighting-and-Festivities.html http://www.4042.com/Local-News/Stories/Christmas-in-Cleveland.html
It's usually at 3PM, but who knows, "they" may have managed to screw that up, too. For all the folks that don't know, the parade used to run west to east, but "someone" got a better idea a year or two back. Now the danged thing runs backaaswards, east to west, sorta like watchin' a rerun when you 've been used to watchin' it the other way for 50 years or so. IF IT AIN'T BROKE, DON'T FIX IT!!!
And PLEASE don't let the guy with the enhanced VW drive in it! My kids might see it this time!
There was something on the news about some bridge work being done around the Meadow Lights area. I think there is now a detour, might want to check WRAL.com before heading out.
I saw that in the paper, too, but we're still planning to go. I assume there will be signs for the detour. We were going to go on Thanksgiving, but everybody got so full of turkey they didn't feel like moving! Think it's the tryptophan effect?
Thanks for the heads up on the bridge. Had no idea. I'll have to check it out before we go. May go this weekend but dont' know yet. Already have a Christmas Party to attend. Always fun dressing up reluctant kids in dresses and suits to go to a party--LOL. 7 complaining kids about dressing up on the way to a party....ahhh, the Christmas joy has already started. I'll check out that detour for sure! Take care, Stephanie--mom to 7
Don't forget the Clayton Christmas Parade is 3:00 on Saturday. Gosh, I hope it's not too cold. Kiddo's got to be there by 2:15 and then we have to wait for her to complete it!
