The interactive map at the following link shows where people moved from and where they are coming from. Data is from 2008 and reflects moves of 10 or more. http://www.forbes.com/2010/06/04/migration-moving-wealthy-interactive-counties-map.html?preload=37101
Pretty cool! It takes a while to load (...especially at 10Mbps) but it's worth it. Try clicking on a few of the military towns -Norfolk, San Diego, Fayettville etc.). My adopted hometown in upstate NY was wa-ay more 'out' than 'in' -I'd like to think I contributed to that somehow! I couldn't figure out how to display net growth (moves in vs. moves out) but JoCo had a lot more lines in than lines out and a lot of them were in state moves.
Yeah, Gomer, I noticed that Johnston County had a lot more coming than going. It is a really interesting map. Sherry
It wasn't on the chart. Does that mean it isn't true? It might not be fair to say "all" yankees do but a lot of them do for sure.
I'd like to see a map that shows the amount of people moving here when Northerners said you were an idiot to move here, and, when the economy wasn't rape worthy?
