Do any of you guys who travel so much ever end up in Phoenix? We're headed there for a work convention this weekend, and need a semi-nice place (not too formal but better than TGIF, for instance) to take out some of our team, about 12 in all.

Of course I'll check with the hotel when we get there, but if somebody knows about a great place, I'd love to hear it.

I probably won't get a chance to check this again until tomorrow, so thanks in advance and don't be offended if I don't reply for awhile!

  3. Hey peaches, not sure what part of Phx you will be in. I grew up there and here is a few places most people like to go and see. The first one is like a little western town setting http://www.rawhide.com/sitemap.html

This other one is a nice place as well but don't wear a tie or they will cut it off

Good luck with your trip and if you need any more help or can tell me around where your staying I could narrow some places down for you.

I vote for Pinnacle Peak, Rawhide is alot of fun but it doesn't sound like there will be any kids in your party?

Whew! All ready to go and just checked back in here for a second before we take off for the airport. Can't believe I got a reply already - thanks!

Our convention is at the Fairgrounds, at the Vets Coliseum. We could eat around there, or the metrocenter. I am not at all familiar with the city.

And yes, we'll all be dressed up, and no kids.... This is like a reward dinner, but the other nights will be for fun, so maybe we'll check into the other places mentioned. Pinnacle Peak looks awesome! This Iowa girl loves a great big good steak.

Send a PM to Hught. He travels all of the time and may have some suggestions.

  8. Not sure about that but they would probably still cut it off. Some people do wear ties in there on purpose just to have them cut off and hung up.

  9. If your staying around the Metrocenter there is a ton of places to go depending on what your in the mood for. There is also the Casino AZ if your into gambling along with the Botanical Garden, The Art Museum and a lot of other places to go thats not far away. Anyone should be able to point you in the right direction to something close.

Have fun its a great time of year to go.:)

Go to Golfland, rumor had it when I was in school that that is where they filmed the waterpark scenes in Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure!

I don't get to Phoenix much, but I would avoid all Mexican Residents right now. No telling what kind of additives you would get right now. The Hispanic community is pod.

Back home tonight! Thanks for the suggestions. We ended up at Fogo Y Brasa, a Brazilian steakhouse, and it was outstanding! We saw it in the in-flight magazine, and the guy sitting beside me had been there and loved it. Everybody ate (and drank) til their eyeballs were ready to pop out and couldn't stop talking about it the next day. We had a blast.
