Where have you travelers out there, gotten your passport picture? I know the post office will take a picture, but, assuming postal clerks aren't the best photographers, I'd like something better since I'll have to live with it for the next 15 years.
You need to go to the Clayton Post Office. I had mine renewed about 6 months ago and went to Walgreen's because they had that little sign that said they do Passport Photos. They did the stand up thing and told me that their photos would not be valid and they sent me to the post office.
So did you like your post office picture? Can I request a second shot (for free) if I don't like the first one?
If the passport photo is simply for a passport, you can go to Walmart or somewhere like that to get htem made. We had gotten ours done at CVS as they gave us an entire sheet. We needed many as we also need visas each time we travel to Russia. So, if your port of entry requires a visa, go for the full sheet to save money and time. They prefer you NOT to smile. Good luck on your trip! Where are you going? Take care, Stephanie--mom to 7
You can always request a second one, but I think they will post the first one on the wall. :jester: They seemed nice about it, but with my looks I know all the pictures will suck, so I don't even bother. P.S. I went and compared the Passport photo to my recent Drivers Licence photo and thought the Passport one looked better.
CVS or Walgreens are 1/2 the price of the post office for pictures. You have to make an appointment at the post office...15 minutes reserved per person getting a passport. Both parents must be there for any minor children. Our appointment was Jan. 23, and we got all of our passports in the mail on Monday!
We got everything done at the Clayton Post Office. One must schedule an appointment and we received ours within two weeks. I thought it best to get it all done at one place so we could make sure it was the right size picture and all. We took pictures but naturally they were not right. Grace
Good Morning While trying to make an appointment to get passports at the Clayton PO; we found out that the we could have passports done at the Courthouse in Smithfield, no hassle about appts., very quick and efficient and so helpful. Had pictures taken at the RiteAid at the corner of 301 and 70; much better pictures than drivers license.
We had to get one recently for DD. Got the pictures made at CVS. Cost for Passport these days in about 95.00 at the PO.
If you are renewing a passport - old one must not be older than 15 years - then it costs $75 (plus the cost of the new picture you have to submit).
