To safe yourself a lot of grief that will become of this thread in about a page and a half (it will digress to something resembling 3rd grade), best is relative. What i like, she doesnt, what she does he doesnt and so on. They all fill prescriptions. Walgreens is newer and the store maybe a bit bigger. CVS means you dont have to cross 42. Six of one, half a dozen of the other.
Well, for us, CVS is the lesser of the two evils. My wife had trouble with Walgreens constantly fouling up prescription renewals and their dealing with the insurance company. One particular pharmacy also did something they weren't supposed to do and got called on it by the insurance company. Of the two, CVS seems to be a little more organized to us, however I'm of the mindset its about time to dump the chain store mentality and go back to dealing with a hometown type pharmacy. I would if I had to deal with them more often.
CVS....and they have the minute clinic with a great Nurse Practitioner who is really personable, and timely. For our Rx's, we use the WM 4 buck plan.
:iagree: friendly and quick!! however walgreens has better 'stuff' to look at and buy if your heart desires.
I've never been to medicap or Walgreens, it's always CVS for me...I haven't had a problem with them yet, and we fill A LOT of prescriptions! Have used them for probably 4 years now. Hubby went to Walgreens once and hated it, said to stick with CVS.
I can't speak to the 40/42 intersection, but in Clayton on Hwy 70 we choose Walgreens. Numerous problems with CVS running out of meds and not even notifying us and long waits for picking up or filling an order. Walgreens seems faster and in Clayton are open 24 hrs.
There are 9 of us in the family and many on regular meds for several different disorders/ dx's. We definitely have experience w/ medications--LOL. We stopped using CVS after using them for years. Not efficient and beyond that, would mess up several times. Come to find out later, the one of 42 is a training center! That is why they kept messing up. If you mess up some of my kids, they can stroke out. Dosage they were going to give my son one time was wrong. They said that is what the neuro wrote. (doubt it highly). It was a Friday afternoon and knew no one was at neurology by that time. I asked them to get a supervisor who knew us in there. She gave it to us b/c she knew we came in there allt he time and knew our situation at home w/ the kids and disorders. Had I just grabbed and gone at that dosage, it would have killed my child. I'm very, very vigilent and have caught CVS on several mistakes over the years. Great people but as I said, it IS a training center. Some parents may not be so vigilent. Now, Walgreens I've had no problems w/ whatsoever. We still occasionally go to CVS but have since transferred almost all over to Walgreens or order the 3 month supply via Caremark. You have to do what is best for your family. For us, it is Walgreens. Good luck w/ wherever you choose. Lesson for everyone, please, please just always double check your script. We're all human and humans make mistakes. Take care, Stephanie--mom to 7
Medicap on 210! Jodie and her staff are top notch and have NEVER messed up my meds. They go above and beyond to help you. CVS has messed up one too many times for me to ever give them anymore of my business.
