Passing this along from Sue Stock's blog on 02/22. We all need to stop by Whole Foods this week. If there was one closer I may actually shop there more than once or twice a year. From what I've heard a Trader Joes might be a better option but having one or the other in Clayton would be nice.
But I only have a cell phone, and it's a Raleigh number! How about if I make up a number starting with 553 or 894?
Ahh, a hole in their plan. That's a great marketing idea, but pointless for me. I have Vonage, so I picked a Raleigh number. With Vonage you can pick any area code in the country, and any prefix. Perhaps they should start asking for zip codes instead?
A bigger hole in their plan may be that they are not asking for that info, at least they didn't this morning at the Wade location.
I bought some frozen organic vegetables, some fresh tomatoes and costa rican bananas, some organic beets, some organic hummus... hearts of romaine... paid about the same as Food Lion..... The pecan crusted tilapia and the salmon were a little higher but you can't get that at food lion... or I wouldn't. Whole Foods has the best seafood to be found for miles...
Have you tried the seafood market by the Food Lion on 42 east by East Clayton Elementary. It's really good. Everything is fresh and they have a lot of types of fish that you can't get other places. I can't speak about the seafood at Whole Food, but that place is great.
I have a friend who is newly vegan, and they just went to Whole Foods for the first time last week, and even her husband loved the store! All they could both do was talk about how nice the meat and seafoods looked, and she was so excited to have found so many vegan products that she didn't even know were out there. I even have to admit, they made chicken pastry last night, and her husband made 2 pots, one with real chicken, and one with a fake chicken loaf (some sort of soy product she said) for her. I tried a piece of the fake chicken... all I can say is Wow. I don't think I would have known that it was fake chicken if I really didn't know. It had the same consistency and flavor of chicken. If she could just find a good vegan turkey or chicken gravy, she'd be all set!
According to NPR today it is a great substitute for street salt. when sprayed on the road it keeps the ice from bonding and leaves the road smelling sweet.
You obviously haven't shopped there lately. We used to think the way you do, when we shopped at one in VA and then came here and found that the prices on most produce and meat are very competitive.`
I like to treat myself from time to time to buying Milk in Glass from Whole Foods. Milk always tastes better from a glass bottle
