It's that time again. 3 sports have posted dates for their summer camps at West Johnston.

    Baseball- June 16-19, 9am-noon (ages 6-14)

    Girls' Basketball- June 23-26, 9am-3pm (5th-9th graders)

    Football- July 28-31, 6pm-9pm (ages 6-13)

Anyone interested can find out more information and download camp registration brochures from West Johnston's Athletics website.

Wish they would do a soccer camp there too! It would be nice to have something so close. We have a huge amount of kids that play soccer for GCAA!

I have heard 6th graders at MCMS do NOT play football. They might be part of practice only???? Do you know if this is true?

thank you for doing that. I think there would be a good response to that since the numbers are relatively high around here. Especially with the rise in gas, people would not have to drive very far to give their kids that great experience. I signed mine up for NC State soccer camp (before gas was $3.80/gallon) and now I am going to have to pay a fortune to commute them there. I work from home, but have the option to work at our main office near NC State campus and was just planning on going in everyday that week to accomodate the need of taking them to practice. It would:lol: be nice to have the option to have them closer to home. Clayton HS did it in the past, but not sure if they still do it.
    Thanks again!

GCAA is currently working on hosting a soccer camp in late August. Information for this will be posted on our website www.gcaasoccer.com in the very near future. Our goal is to have the WJHS & Cleveland Middle School Soccer Coaches involved. We are also planning a new player development program for our Rec. and Challenge levels of play and are asking these great coaches for their help in this as well.

How long would it take for us to drive there, from Riverdell Elementary to West Johnston HS?

Riverdell is probably 20 miles away..... 30 minute drive.

Enrollments for all camps are still open as far as I know. Baseball and Wrestling are less than a week away.

Coach Jacobs will be in the main gym, Sunday 6/15, from 2-4 to get any late registrations and answer any questions.

Coach Prendergast is accepting registrations, Saturday 6/14, outside of the wrestling from from 10am-12noon.

Our son has been going for the past 2 years, and we think it's wonderful. He has learned so much, especially the first year, when he didnt know a thing about baseball, he was the kid when he went up to bat we'd all pray he'd walk, lol. He'll be there again this year.
