Well it happened again with Pizza Inn. Since now they don't guarantee requests for the buffet, now they won't honor their own coupons they give out. They've had a price increase and even though the coupon doesn't expire until 3/31/08, they won't honor it. These coupons were even given out to the cub scout troop a month ago. And they'd rather argue with the customer on the phone than just honor the coupon and keep the customers. Definately the LAST TIME I deal with this "new management". I'm sick of it!

I really don't understand why anyone deals with Pizza Inn. One time I had pizzas delivered to the students in the 4th grade at my school. Let's help out the schools, right?? Wrong. Although it wasn't the 40/42 Pizza Inn, it was a Pizza Inn. They charged me a $30 delivery charge to bring the pizzas about 2 miles down the road. I went ballistic! It was about $100 worth of pizzas. I said take the delivery charge off, or take the pizzas back. I won't pay it, period. Needless to say, they took it off, and I never went back to Pizza Inn. They're money hungry.

My husband and I found some coupons on their website and they won't even honor those even though they did just a week ago and a few weeks before that. Turns out the "forgot" and honored those coupons twice in the past but will not anymore.

Are they giving a reason for not honoring their coupons?

Yes we had a price increase which effected the coupon they are speaking about the coupon was $12.99 and now it's $13.99. Rather than complaining on this site I would be more than happy to answer any question with a phone call or a visit

As for the coupons from the Pizza Inn website those coupons are good for that month only, because Pizza Inn changes the website every month and post new coupons for that month.

The people that recieve any coupons from this store directly we honor them even if they are expired.

It looks like most of these folks had to have gone into your store to find out that you wouldn't honor your coupons (whether they are yours or who you franchise for (I bet Pizza Inn would be interested)).

Looks like they couldn't reason with you and decided to warn others in the community and I don't blame them.

Hugh....right on target. It's not as if the complaints about PI have just begun. Complaints from the local patrons are many, and have been occurring for some time now. I was one of those who gave the place a few chances to get it together. Heck, I even knew some of the staff there, students whom I taught and to whom I agreed to check it out again, as they claimed it had gotten better. As a man of my word, we went. I was unimpressed with the changes, as I couldn't perceive any. Moreso, again, it seemed that my patronage was taken for granted.

I refuse to subsidize bad service, bad food, or bad management. Fro these, and many other reasons, I refuse to go back to PI. If noobie Happy Valley objects to this, perhaps he should realize that PI is beginning to reap what PI has sown.

So, instead of reaching out to a customer, accommodating them because they were shopping in good faith based on a relatively recent coupon issue, PI chose to alienate a customer. Apparently PI management hasn't learned the 3-11 rule...a satisfied customer will tell 3 people, an unhappy customer will they share the experience with 11.

PI management, you probably ought to examine your mission statement and reorient yourself to that mission. Is it all new customers you seek, or is it less expensive to take care of the ones you have currently? I shouldn't have to tell you that there are other businesses out there who are happy to take better care of those customers.

Figuring that you've been presented with, and turned away 5 or 10 customers for what? 3 bucks each, how much potential business has that 15 - 30 dollars cost you? None of us were trying to rip you off. We were coming in to purchase, based on coupons or enhancements in good faith. You chose to make your stand. Now, we do the same.

So the price went up a dollar and that is what the fuss is about? As a manager I think it would benefit you to 'eat' the dollar than loose the business. (or most patrons would be willing to pay the dollar difference) We are still a small community for the most part and word of mouth can kill ya!

Oh, the coupon in question WAS RECEIVED from your store during a visit. But the "manager" still wouldn't honor it and didn't care. Manager was very rude. Totally argued with me and wouldn't accept any explanation.

It seems like every time I go there they put the plainest pizza on the buffet. Cheese or just 1 topping and they do NOT know how to fix a Monster pizza! I just go to Smithfield pizza inn less signs to read. New management is going to run this place in the ground. This use to be my favorite place to eat, I know it's sad but true.

The original poster stated that the coupon that was refused didn't expire until 3/31/08. I have never had a business refuse a coupon they put out if it hadn't expired even if there was a price increase. Many places take expired coupons or competitor's coupons.

Also, maybe you wouldn't have had to increase your prices if happy customers kept returning and spread the word that it was a great place to go. We look out for each other on here. I know that if I'm looking for pizza, I WON'T choose Pizza Inn at this location based on what I have heard. If you don't like what was posted, please feel free to change things, keep your integrity when it comes to coupons and service, and then invite us back to observe the changes. Maybe even offer us a special 40/42.com discount. I bet a lot of people who have complained would be willing to give it another try if you did that. Sounds like good business to me. It would also give you some free advertising. are you up to the challenge?

My bet is No!..Sounds like management is under the old school philosophy...you can have it any way you want as long as it's the way I want...better known as the "my way or the highway" routine. mangers of this type are usually insecure about their position, have no ability to hire and allow to flourish those good employees who can make or break a business. They end up hiring those who were looking for a job when they found the one at PI. Management by intimidation works only with an uneducated employment pool, which rarely exists anymore. Most people looking for work also seek to feel valued for their contribution. Since, by definition, a MBI manager tolerates no feelings other than his own, these empowered employees, sorely needed to rescue the business, go elsewhere.

Retail and restaurants embody the philosophy that when it comes to employees (the lifeblood of any business) one gets what they pay for.

Apparently, the franchisee is most definitely in a "hands off" mode.

As far as the coupon goes the MEAL DEAL coupon has been posted on the Pizza Inn website for awhile now perhaps you should educate yourself as a franchisee as to what your money goes too every month. I have tried to speak to the manager twice neither of which time you have been there and whomever is next in the chain of command apparently doesn't have the authority to honor your coupon. I left a message last time with one of your staff and never heard back from you. As long as I know you are on here... you might want to educate your staff that answering your phone with "Yeah Pizza Inn" isn't that impressive neither is being put on hold for over six minutes and then picking the phone back up and saying "what".

I do enjoy your pizza but the customer service is less than impressive. Remember the montage that the customer is always right and that without the customer there is no you and Pizza Inn will see turnaround. As for me and my family we would rather drive past Pizza Inn and down to Papa Johns at $3.19 a gallon to be treated better for comparable pizza and outstanding customer service.

We went to Pizza inn for the LAST time on Monday evening. Not only did they inform us that they stopped taking requests for pizza's 3 weeks ago but were very rude about it. The pizza's on the bar were plain, cold and the dessert pizza had been sitting up there for over an hour and no replacement. I will never go back again.

  17. I have only eaten there a few times and its always been with friends. I never really cared for their food. The only saving grace was that I was with friends.

Yeah, i am so glad to see this thread. When PI first opened up, it was good. The new manager is [name calling removed] rude, even to his own employees.
My wife was even asked "what are you waiting on" very rudely because she was trying to decide what to get out of his "rotation of pizzas". No more requests. I was begged by my wife not to say anything to him.

We have been back a few times since because my son loves it, but I can hardly stomach sitting there looking at that guy. I think I go now just waiting for him to say something wrong to me or my family again. :x
