Is the beginning of Dec too late to hold one? How do you go about pricing items? I know you go to yard sales looking for stuff dirt cheap, but I don't want to just give the stuff away either. Say like, a practically new pair of Levi's. Sure 30 bucks at the store, how much at a yard sale? Clothing in general?
It's never too late for a yard sale. And I don't have time right this minute to detail pricing for you, but.... those new Levi's? I'd be shocked if you got more than $5 for them. If you want better returns, sell the items like that on craigslist. More later, but I gotta work now ( I know, I know, cutting in on my 4042 time!)
If it were me (and it has been on occassion), I'd charge 10% of what it would cost to buy it new. Your example jeans? $3. That having been said, if you think 10% is too low, put what ever price you want and post a sign that all prices are negotiable.
Yeah right, Jen. You are just waiting me to say "Aaaaggghhhhhhh!! Come get this clutter out of my house!!!" You know I sold Levis last year for a buck. I sold a Raleigh 10-speed for 5 bucks, even the guy who bought it was like "Really?"
Whatcha got Cleo? You can have an online yard sale here on 4042.:lol: My hubby needs work pants. 33 x 34 ?
I am far too lazy to bother with ebay/craigs list/4042 classifieds with all of this stuff. You gotta take pics, have specs, go back & forth. So, yes. I want to throw it in the yard, sell what I can, and take the rest to Goodwill.
I have a little girl. She needs winter clothes. Looking for anything 12-24 months. Call me, I'll come over and go shopping. I'm serious.
Would he like some loose highwaters? I think they are 34/30. I'l double check later when the baby is up.
See? I knew it was a setup. lol Seriously, I do have some stuff in her size. At least the upper end. 18-24 mos. DD2 is so dainty, she is gonna be in 12-18 months for the winter.
Yeah, I agree it is NEVER too late to have a yard sale. In fact, the later in the year you wait the less competition.... So, that means more shoppers to buy your stuff - they aren't rushing to get to the next sale around the corner.
I'll be looking for your YARD SALE Sat SIGN. and Did you see that the tiny brick ranch at the end of your road SOLD already! YES, SOLD. they were asking something like 179K? I think. WOW!?!?!
WHAT?? They barely have the foundation! You sure you know which road I live on? We are kind of bummed about those tiny houses BTW, the Covenents (which conveniently expire next year) state houses must be 1400 sf and up. That can't possibly be 1400 sf... But, I am just glad it is at the foot of the road and not close to me, as long as they keep it up looking nice they might do better than some other houses that are above 1400 sf. But, who am I to say anything with my sandbox and garden in my front yard. lol
