They announced in class last night that they are having a Zumba Party at Garner Senior Center Friday night (2/19). Hours are 6:30 - 8:30, cost is only $3. It goes on the whole time, switching out instructors. You can take breaks as often as you want, and you don't have to stay the whole time, nor do you have to be there at 6:30.
Do you have to be a senior? Is this good for beginners (ie. someone who has never even seen a Zumba class)?
this is ZUMBA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A314kZAOCdw I've been doing it almost a month, 3 times a week, and I have lost almost 10 lbs. and have dropped a pants size. I absolutely LOVE it. It is sooo much fun!
Dang, I might have to check that out. Sounds like quick results. BTW, I jogged for like four whole minutes today. Uh-huh. Go me!!
it's dancing. and it's not hard. there are all shapes and ages in the classes I take. It's the most fun I have ever had "working out"....no lie (and I've done it all). You are welcome to join me anytime! I go to Garner Monday's and Thursday's and right up on 42 every other Tuesday.
No, you don't have to be a senior. I think they are just renting the space there. It's good for anyone as you cna go at your own pace. I'm a bigger girl, and I have bad knees, and I cannot move like the instructor does, and I still do it. I just get at the back of the room and do what I can. As long as you're moving ans sweating, that's all that really matters! I figured out a trck last night for my knees. Normally, I wear my usual workout shoes. Last night, I ahd to wear an old pair i had at work becasue I forgot to put my fancy insoles in my workout shes. The bottoms on the old shoes are slicker/smoother, and it took a lot of the pressure off my knees. So, from now on, I will be wearing slick bottomed shoes!
I might walk 5k on Saturday....that is if the golf course is cart path only. Luckily the course allows coolers so at least I'll have cold beer.
