You may have been seeing the increased number of news reports concerning the "early" Daylight Saving Time that will kick in this Sunday (March 11).

You can read the information from Microsoft on how to handle it by clicking here.

Also, here is a link to a site that provides free downloads of programs that test to see if your PC is up-to-date for this DST change and if not, will patch it for you (much easier than the Microsoft directions). Scroll down the page to the heading that reads "FREE DOWNLOADS" and you'll see seperate "fixes" for Windows 2000, XP, 2003 and Windows 98/ME.

*We have tested this patch on a number of systems with positive results, but cannot guarantee that it will work on every system. As with any 3rd party program, use caution and use at your own risk.

Or you could just manually change the computer clock, like you would every other clock in your house.

yeah, but then you would not be cool

when you have hundreds of computers to do, it becomes a problem to change the clock on each computer 4 times in one year in two different places.

Any IT person worth their weight in a company that size would already have it set-up as a forced update that the company servers push out.

Done and helping Customers as well

Unfortunately not everybody listens to their IT mandates. Personally I do not think their will be a big problem. Just a simple service that appcomm was trying to pass along. I was just trying to remind people that their jvm also will need an update.
