Boy, that's a good idea I can get around 75-80% off but never as good as you guys I am soo jealous. Worked out i really couldn't do much shopping this time with my g-daughter at the hospital. I had been trying to do at least a trip a month for the food bank one way to help outwould have been the perfect time

I'm new to REALLY using coupons and haven't had the pleasure yet of taking Faye's class, so I'm trying my best to be "self-taught" from this site and Faye's site until I catch up with Faye. I did save money with triples but no where near as much as others! :-(

It was amazing to see about 2-3 coupon shoppers (with binders) in every aisle of Lowe's as I shopped! WOW! Faye has started a revolution! LOL.

Just curious, how often does Lowes offer triples?

And Faye, you had to have made multiple trips for shopping right? I was only allowed to use 20 coupons- so how many trips did it take you for $200+ worth of groceries?

Thanks to everyone for advice and sharing ideas on how to save money. It is greatly appreciated!

Didn't go this time. I'm getting everything re-organized since I moved and haven't really gotten back into the swing of it. I'll get geared up and go when HT does theirs. Seems they tend to follow each other.

Question...do ya'll give them your Lowes card AFTER they ring the order? Every time I've done that, it hasn't taken my card and they had to re-ring the entire order, scanning my card first. LARGE PAIN!

FP - I have them scan my card first, so I don't forget!

    Hi kidsfly,

Lowe's and Harris Teeter offer triples about once every 4-5 months. Often, when one store offers triples the other one soon follows. It would not surprise me if HT triples in the next week. Lowe's will probably offer them again around Memorial Day (at least that is what they did last year).

For the 3 days of triples, I made a total of 8 trips. All the stores I shopped (Cary Kildaire, Garner, and Clayton) let me do multiple trips back to back. I put two orders in one cart (one on top and one on the bottom). When I went through the line I used 20 coupons for the order on the top of the cart and 20 more for the order on the bottom.

My 3 day total was $395 worth for just under $14. Well worth the effort to me and now my freezer is stocked with steamfresh veggies, boca burgers and pillsbury pancakes!

I will also be donating toothpaste, rice, and other food and bath items to the Basic Needs Food Bank at 40/42. Being able to purchase so much stuff for so little money allows us to give back much more than when I paid full price for everything. I not only fill my pantry, but I get to help others fill theirs as well.

    Hope that helps!

    Faye

    Hi FP!

I always give them my greenpoints card to scan before they ring anything. I plan my $35 minimum based on the sale prices of the items not on the regular price.

So I re-added my receipts and my totals were actually:

    Bought 256.17 worth

    For 22.54

Which is a savings of 91%

    However.......

That included me buying a 5 lb bag of apples and a can of baby formula, so I'm okay with that.

Okay, my first trip with my new coupon book. It made my life so much easier for triples. I had 3 separate orders in my cart, and they took each one separately. Of course it was 10pm too, on Tuesday. I spent $34 for $130 worth of groceries. I will have to work on this next time. Of course, we did figure out that you have to go the first day in order to get the really good deals, because they were sold out of a lot of stuff on Tuesday.

Thanks, HG & FMO2. That's how I've been doing my card scanning also.

Jen I have to go shopping with you next time! My best savings were 65%. I'm usually between 38% and 45%. I buy a lot of meat and fresh fruits/veggies.
