Keep an eye on Walgreens, they are running a gallon of Pet milk on sale for $2.79 pretty frequently. It's on sale this week, and was just on sale week before last too. Beats the heck out of Wally World!

The cheapest I've found so far is at Aldi in Fuquay..not sure of the exact price, but the milk lasts longer than food lion or anywhere else we've had...

I was very surprised to see that CVS has raised their price to $3.99 for a gallon of 2% milk. I may be sending hubby to Sams on his way home from work from now on when Walgreen does not have theirs on sale.

There have been lots of stories on the rising price of dairy products this summer. I guess they are here.

I wouldn't mind paying it if the dairy farmers were the ones actually getting the money. My aunt and uncle have grade A dairy farm back in VA and they have not gotten a penny more for their milk in 10 years. So until they get a raise, I am committed to getting it as cheap as I can because it's the big companies who are profiting, not the farmers. (yes, I know it's not illegal for these companies to make a profit, but so should my uncle who gets up at 2:00 every morning to milk the cows) There is also some suspicion that these big companies are "watering down" the milk that we buy in the store. I've got to do some research on it.

I normally buy milk at bj's or walmart or when on sale at Walgreens. I didn't realize milk was going up so much and about had a heart attack when I had to buy some yesterday at walmart for $4.19 and that was their brand, the name brand stuff was even higher. Thanks for posting the cheap places to buy milk!

Dern, why didn't you just hop on over to the Food Lion... bridge closed? ;)

Harris Teeter still has their milk at $3.69 per gallon - cheaper than Food Lion and CVS. It pains me to pay that. I still prefer to hit a good Lowe's Foods markdown sale, stock up and freeze it.
