CVS has some fantastic ECB (Extra Care Bucks) deals this week. Make sure you check out your sales flyer or go to www.cvs.com to view it online. My fav is $20 in ECB's when you buy $20 of specific Kraft products including Post cereals, Nabisco cookies, Nabisco crackers, Kraft Easy Mac, DiGiorno Pizza, Velvetta pasta and cheese, and planters nuts. All the items are on sale. Limit one deal per CVS card. Here is what I did this morning: 2 boxes Grape Nuts (sale 2 for $4) 2 boxes Wheat Thins (sale 2 for $5) 2 bags Golden Oreos (sale 2 for $4) 2 cans Planters deluxe mixed nuts (sale 2 for $7) 2 cans Bumble Bee Tuna on sale for 3 for $2 (.67 each) 2 Reese's pieces small bags sale 2 for $1 (purchased because I had to get my order above $24 to use ECB's and CVS coupon) Subtotal: $25 Used $4 off $20 CVS coupon that printed out last time I made a purchase Used BOGO Reese's CVS register coupon (-.50) Used $1 off 2 Post Cereal Q Used $20 in EBC's from previous ECB deals (see below) Total paid: .41 including tax (The 2 $10 ECB's are from buying 2 One Touch Mini Glucose Monitors. They retail for $19.99 and I had two $20 coupons. They are currently printing out $10 ECB's when you buy one of the monitors up to 5 per card. My MIL's neighbor uses this exact brand and he has been a great help to her so I am giving the monitors to him when we visit next) Other good deals: The Aquafresh Advanced is on sale for $2.99 and you get $2.99 back in ECB's. If you use the $2 coupon from today's paper it is a money maker. The sales ad states you can get ECB's on up to 3 of the Aquafresh Advanced per card. Get back $5 in ECB's when you buy $15 worth of certain Tylenol, Mylanta, and other OTC pain meds. Us the Tylenol Q's from todays paper and Mylanta and other coupons from previous weeks. See the ad for more info. If you don't already have ECB's to spend, you can maximize the deals and minimize out of pocket cost (OOP) by doing 3 transactions. I am sure there are lots of other ways to work this so feel free to share if you have a better scenario. 1st: Buy 3 Aquafresh Advanced tubes and use 3 of the $2 coupons (if you have them). You would pay approx. $3.59 out of pocket after coupons. Then you would get back $8.97 in ECB's that print out immediately. 2nd: Buy $20 in qualifying Kraft/Post/Planters/Nabisco products and use $1 off 2 Post cereal coupons, 35 coupons when you buy both Nab cookie and cracker, and $8.97 ECB from previous sale. If you have coupons for the Post and Nabisco items, your OOP will be less. If you don't, your OOP will be approx $11.25 after tax. Receipt will have a $20 ECB on it. 3rd: Buy at least $15 in qualifying Tylenol/Mylenta, etc products. Use $1 off coupons from today's paper and previous weeks to lower OOP. Buy extra to get up to $20 total so you can use the $20 ECB from the Kraft deal in the previous sale. To get up to $20, buy other ECB deals, milk, TP, anything to get up to $20 so you can use the whole $20 ECB from the Kraft deal. They won't give you money back if you don't use up the whole thing. Your OOP will depend on what extras you buy to get to $20 and what coupons you use, but hopefully it will be right around $1.50 incl the tax if your total sale is right around $20 after coupons (but before ECB's). Your total OOP for all three sales will be around $16.34 for over $50 in product. Plus you will get another $5 in ECB's from the Tylenol deal in the 3rd sale. Then in weeks to come, use ECB's to pay for other deals that print out ECB's and just keep rolling them for more ECB deals week after week. I am sure that will be a little confusing to those who have not played the ECB game before. I recommend you read all about CVS and ECB's at: http://hotcouponworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=28157 You can also read all about the other ECB deals folks are doing this week at: http://hotcouponworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43970 and at: http://hotcouponworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41165 That should keep you busy! LOL. Have fun! Faye FYI - the 4042 CVS in Garner does not have any Aquafresh Advanced. They said they have not received any but will hopefully get some in on Tuesday's truck. The Mcgee's xroads store had lots this morning.
There are also coupons for .35 off when you buy both a Nabisco cookie box and a Nabisco creacker box.
In addition, go online to cvs.com and make sure you don't have any deals hanging out there. I checked this morning and had a $6 ECB coupon. Printed it out and can use it on the $20, bringing my initial total to $14. I have 2 $1 Post coupons, bringing me to $12. Have to check my other coupons to see what I have. Good tip on the Aquafresh, have to see if I cut that one today... Frogger
Good tip Frogger! AND, if you have not already updated your e-mail address associated with your CVS extra care card, go to www.cvs.com and click on the box that reads, "Sign up for e-mail offers, get $4 off." You will then get an e-mail for a $4 off any $20 purchase coupon to use with the deal. Make sure when using these CVS coupons that you give them the $4 off $20 first before your manufacturer's coupons. Then give your Man. Q's then the ECB's last.
