I want to get a side entrance door installed on my garage but I am having a hard time finding someone to do this. For some odd reason, they think I'm talking about the huge main door...I'm not, just one off of the side (already have a main door).

Does anyone have any recommendations and an estimated price? I have no clue what I'm working with her, just need a side door to put a doggie door in for my dogs.

    Thanks!!! :)

I can't give you any names, sorry. But, in the future, to avoid confusion, when you tell a contractor what you want, call it an "access door"

Is it not possible to install the doggie door in an already existing door - even your main garage door?

That was suggested on another board. I think I might just do that, it seems like it would be alot cheaper than having a new door installed.

Just might scare anyone coming up to the house when a mastiff pokes his head out but then again, it might be kind of funny. :D
    (I'll post a warning side)

    Thanks! :)

If you have a doggie door and a stranger idles up to your house, my money is on said stranger running like widlfire when the mastiff shoots out. A warning sign might be nice if you ever want to see another UPS package!

That makes me laugh, my sister's packages get dropped at the end of the driveway, her Bordeauxs (French Mastiffs) scare the daylights out of delivery men. Heck, I think twice about getting out of the car sometimes myself!

    Omg, you have noooooo idea!!!!
At my last house, the UPS guy was sooooooo terrified of my mastiff, he would literally just throw any packages in my yard. One day, he threw a small package up on my porch and ran off screaming. Of course, this angered my dog so he chewed up the package...

Of course, it was a box of checks...

I came home to a yard with small pieces of checks all over the place. Some of it was in my bushes, in the street and in my neighbors yard! I had to cancel that account just in case...when I told my banker what happened, he laughed so hard, that he told me that story was going down in history!

Needless to say, I now have my packages delivered to my job.. :D

I love it when door to door salepeople walk up! They always call out, "Does he bite?"

I always reply, "Come up here and find out!"

    They leave. :D

150 pound dogs scare me too, LOL and I will be spending the weekend with them! I think I am going to stock up on some dog treats before I go!

It's called a 3070 Exterior Door. Also, it would help if you told them "with or without glass" ... wood or metal .... and what type of knob, deadbolt etc...

Best thing to do is go to Lowes and pick out the door you want. Then give them the stock number.

PM me and I can give you a price.
