Just curious - i have been on this board now for the 2nd time a bit over 2 years and still try to post as often as i can. i have seen over those 2 years so many posters come and go and a lot go and come back as someone else:lol: So how long have most of the daily posters now been on the board? Also, how many will admit to coming back as someone new? You do not have to state who you used to be, i just thought it would be an interesting subject to explore - what can i say, i have always been a student of human behavior:-D i wish there were some way to get the stats on how long the average poster actually stays around. There probably is, but i don't have the time to check it out. Also i thought it would be nice to have a thread without any complaining in it:lol::lol::lol:
Just me, and I was a "viewer" only for about 2 months or so before signing up as a member a little over a year ago (I think) LOL I wish I could change my name, because it is SO personal though!!!
I created this name 2-13-2004 but didn't really care for it. Very shortly there after created Tammy01 and kept that for a very long time. But that name was cursed! I had it deleted b/c of all the drama. Stayed off the boards for a little time but I am addicted to you all! Still me! Still here!
I've been here since the date posted on the upper right there. I've always been me - through good times and bad. I think I stuck with it (the boards)because the good people stuck around the those that show up just to start trouble leave as soon as they run out of fuel. As for changing my name or av. . .nope. . .never have, never will.
I became a member in July 2005 after my neighbor called me up one day steaming mad. I think she was in a dispute with one of the regular guys on here (care to guess who):mrgreen: and wanted me to go read the thread. I did and then I posted every now and again when I had a question. Life got really crazy several months ago for me and I fell off the 4042 board. Just started coming back on recently. Pretty soon, I'll all but dissapear again because we start up our homeschool in mid Sept. every year. I'll try to check in though because I enjoy the conversation, information, and kindness (okay...well...most of the time kind ) of the posters here.
Well dang it seems I'm coming up on my 1 yr anniversary lol. I've had the same name since I joined on 9-13-06. After meeting a few of you (and you know who you were lol) on i believe was the first lunch get together at the Draft House.
I joined in Feb. 2004. Never had another name. Don't post a lot because some of you guys would make me cry if you jumped on me the way others get jumped on. Brenda
Awwwww! Nothing wrong with a tender heart. There are a few crude ones on here, but most of the posters are great. And, if you get jumped on unfairly, the "good guys" tend to come to your rescue unless they are friends with the crude ones.
I had to look to see how long I had been posting, Feb 06, I stumbled on the discussion group from the main page. I had never participated in any other forum before and this is still the only one, although I lurk on some on MSN. I spend too much time on here, I'm working on that, but I have met so many wonderful folks, you know who you are, that I can't imagine going away for good. Same name always, although I have been tempted to create an alter ego sometimes. :lol:

When i first joined, it was back in 2000 when the board was first created and my name was Mayan (guess what that stood for). But then i was not in the position to get online for quite awhile and when i came back, the board had changed to a different format and everyone had to resign up and i could not remember the originial password so i just decided to go with my nickname.
I'm a boomerang, I leave for a while, but always seem to come back. I started reading 4042 back before you had to register and the forum was a much different and chaotic format. 4042 is the only forum I've ever visited or posted too. As a newbie, back in early 2003, I posted using my real name. I was looking for information and also included my phone number. A member jumped all over me, called me names, ticked me off, and frankly scared the heck out of me. I gave myself a couple hard slaps to the forehead and wondered, "what was I thinking?". I knew nothing about this fight-picking angry person and WHAT IF he were a little loony? You hear about people's bad experiences, including being murdered by someone met through the interent. I know that's a little extreme, but I'm a small-town girl and I suddenly became a little paranoid. I found myself watching every male stranger at local stores and wondering if he was the bully! :lol: ha ha I registered as kidsfly in 2004. For the last 3 years, I've been mostly reading the forum or taking a break from it, I don't post a lot. I'm no where near the 10,000 post "prize" that Ken will probably win! (Life gets too busy sometimes). But it might be fun to try catching up to him. ha! You'd all kick me off the board then! To any newbies: to my knowledge, there's not really a prize. But I think it would be fun to come up with suggested prizes for Ken. Like a 4042 butt pillow for his chair. I know my keester gets sore from what little time I sit in front of the computer! 10,000? Whew! That's a lot of sittin'.
