Okay, I decided to make a copy of a cd I own so both DH and I can listen to it in our car. I DO have a cd burner on my pc. I have not done this in quite a while. In the past, I have used my program (Adaptec) to make cd's of all my favorite music off of various cd's I own. When doing this, I did not have to use two drives, just the one because it read it and then I had to take the original cd out and put the blank formatted cd in for each individual song. Takes FOREVER! There HAS to be an easier way. Today, I wanted to just copy the whole cd using the burner (I've never done that before actually.) It won't let me because the cd is write protected. SO, I use the individual method. It works, but on the 5th song, my computer locked up on me. Alt ctrl delete did not work. It was frozen. Had to shut down and reboot. Since then, it has locked up on me 3 more times. And I was not even trying to write to the cd then. Why does this happen? I know I have a ton of pics I need to dump and my memory is pretty full. Could this be the cause? :?
I have often thought about looking into other operating systems especially because many of you guys talk so highly of them. There are two problems, first, I've only known windows and would worry about the time I'd need to understand a new OS. And I'd have to teach the kids too. Second problem, the Switched on Schoolhouse computer program I use for all my kids homeschool only works on windows:-( So, I guess I don't have much choice in the matter.:?
Didn't know that. So you prefer Linux. Why? I know nothing about it. And how hard is it to make Windows only run on it (remember - I'm not a tech )
