It is not as yummy as DR wells, but for $2.99 a pound.... they sliced it however i wanted etc... they also had boneless pork loin for $1.89 (they have it sliced, but I asked for a whole one for the rotisserie too!). Ground beef was $1.39, not the 80% stuff, but still a good deal
Not to be picky ( oh heck yes I am! ) is this a Carlie C's IGA? I ask because I think their beef is as good as DR Wells. Carlie C's has stores in Dunn, Benson, and Coats that I know of. $2.99 per pound for ribeye sounds too good to be true...tell me the truth!
No the one in Smithfield is Edwards IGA, Charlie's has their ribeyes for $6.99 a pound.I got two big packs one cut 3/4 inch for the grown ups and one cut 1/2 for the kiddo's and we had them for dinner tonight (unfrozen of course) and they were pretty good. Tender and juicy. Hubby said they were as good as DR Wells, I thought they were close but just not as good. (we got enough for 2 adults and two kids for 9 meals for $58)I used my sealer on the rest and froze them, I hope they are as good after being frozen.
Well that clinches it. I'm a spoiled Iowa farm girl whose daddy raised corn-fed Angus beef. I'll have to give DR Wells another try. I've only bought from there once. It was good but not great, but maybe not a fair shake. Thanks! Oh yeah, even if the $2.99 isn't grill-worthy, I'll bet it would still make a mean stir-fry!
I have actually started stopping by the IGA in Smithfield on my way home to pick up Mac and cheese. Lowes use to sell their mac and cheese for 4 for 5.00. Now Lowes sells it for 1.79 and the sign says its on sale for 1.79 marked down from 2.39 HA. The IGA in Smithfield has it for 4 for 5.00. So to buy it from Lowes foods its 4 boxes for 7.16 or stop at IGA and get it for 5.00. Heck 2.16 thats 2/3rds a gallon of gas right there
I just came back from some grocery shopping at Lowes on 42/50 and they have done a price reduction on the mac and cheese to 1.29 it was 1.79
