reagan was a great president because he could sell anything to anybody. he also had a damn good staff backing him. reagan was very good by himself, but joined with his staff made him the best
During the Ronny Reagan years, the interest rate was 18-20% on automobiles. Its during that time that American automakers started with their incentives of rebates. During the Reagan years I was laid off twice and laid off three times during the present administration. During the Clinton years I was able to buy a new vehicle and buy my first home. Heck most of the world was afraid that ronny would push the button, even Americans were afraid that in his senility he would push the button. But comparing Reagan to Bush, Reagan was a boy scout, and Bush is an IDIOT. I will give credit where credit belongs. Reagan was a good poker player in the game of life and was able to bluff well. But he didn't cause the Russian empire to collapse he just sped it up. They would of collapsed anyway.
What the heck is displaced? Say it like it is..fired or laid off. My point, as Hugh's, looks like both of us had two GOP icons seem to have our national debt high and have hard working people looking for jobs. And, your point?
Well, my dear, it took you long enough from reading this Thread earlier today to actually Posting...wonder why? My point, unlike yours, is that with national debt as it is and rising, more and more jobs being lost, banks in deep sheout, people losing homes, violence rising and a president who doesn't know about oil and gas prices, in my little ole world, I RANK GEORGE W. BUSH AS THE DARN WORST PRESIDENT WE HAVE EVER HAD AND PROBABLY WILL EVER HAVE.
Could it be because I have a life? And the proof of that is that you lost your job?!?! I was downsized several times during Clinton's reign. It happens in EVERY president's reign. Get over it. A good reputation in town goes a long way towards finding another job when one loses theirs, you know. Oh..oops...maybe you haven't experienced that.
Nice try, nut job. No, you have no life as can be seen by Posting on another Thread after having to think about this one. I have guts, brains and intelligence. When you did not know how Liberal I was you were all on board to help research for my daughter's illness, help with job loss, help research with my mother's illnesses but after finding out I was a Liberal...that close minded Magnolia stopped helping her 4042 friend. Jump on board someone else's train, honey, because you only believe one way...White, Middle Class, Conservative and Selfish!
Who did you work for, the Department of unemployment? They're the only ones I know of that weren't busy during the Clinton years.
I was happy to help you until I realized what an intolerant, hypocritical, immature, and disengenous person you are. I will respond to you on this and any thread I choose, as long as the entertainment value makes it worth my time. I will ignore your posts when it doesn't. Deal with it as you choose.
Thank you for showing what a true friend either in person or online you can be. Your entertainment grew weary with me when I noticed a very clear pattern in every single Post, which Bear has pointed out very well. :jester:
Ha! If you knew both of them like I know both of them, you wouldn't say that! The two of them remind me of my father and his siblings when they would get together and talk politics - picture veins standing out in the temples.
Funny how things slide off topic. let me elaborate and add to my ratings. Add anyone with the last name Bush to my worst list. That being said I voted for both of them twice. Both of them let me down as a libertarian conservative as neither of them are conservative. I didn't really have much choice as there was no way in HELL the socialists they were running against would get my vote. As an example, W gave us a temporary tax cut, darn it he had both houses of congress and couldn't make it permanent? He increased spending more than any previous President. The more I think about Iraq the more the words clustered fornication come to mind. Add Teddy Roosevelt to the worst list too. He was a big government busy body who started the dangerous trend of the government attempting to control the lives of individual citizens, his cousin Franklin finally got the opportunity to do it completely and we are damned near broke because of it. Because of these two, there are millions of Americans who cannot or WILL NOT take care of themselves they demand that I do it!
"Worst & Best" is too general of a term when describing a Presidential Reign. If you use the *Gallop Poll on Presidential Approval Ratings you'll find G.W. Bush is the, "all time," winner in both categories. He beat his Dads record high of 89% while he slipped past Harry Truman’s record 23% low. Truman also held the largest range in rating until G.W. Bush took that honor too. The general populace of the United States found "GW" to be the best at both. He was an omnipotent and a putz in 8 short years. If the man is truly looking for a solid legacy, this is his only choice, humor in lieu of disgrace. Yep, you folks who were out there propping him up like the next messiah right after 911, are now throwing stones at the man. What's funny? Many who post in here fit the bill exactly. OOOOOOooooooowww ....... I'm sorry the truth hurts? I admire those who still stand up for him today much more than the ship jumping rats. My vote is for the guy who did it straight down the middle, John F. Kennedy. Money may have brought him there, but Jacquelyn’s' charm and his power trespassed all controversial boundaries for the better of "every" American life. I see his Best & Worst as equal. And isn’t that what we’re really suppose to be looking for here? There is no mister or miss perfect out there. Somewhere since then, money and power grew beyond the choice of better. Technology may have advanced in leaps and bounds but in my opinion mankind has digressed. Let's hope the next generation does better. *(They started the process in 1938, so I take them as the experts) PS: Ronald Reagan was a Donkeyhole. He screwed the Viet Vets. He's the start of the degradation to the Vet healthcare system. He's why we're scrapping fungas off Vet hospital walls. "Reagonomics"
Dan, don't you think most Americans wanted to believe he would be the leader this country needed after 9/11? I don't think I'm guilty of ever "propping him up like the next messiah," but I did try to give him the benefit of the doubt. I fully supported the invasion of Afghanistan. It's when he allowed himself to be distracted by Iraq, and failed to accomplish the mission in Afghanistan, that my opinion of him went down to the sub-basement. I never voted for him, and I never thought he was well qualified for the job, but I did try to give him the benefit of the doubt until he proved his incompetence beyond a doubt. If that makes me a ship jumping rat, so be it.
Everyone in the world supported Bush after 911. Today he is the most hated man in the world. That's a lot of of ship jumping rats. The whole world stood behind us in our ' war against terror' until we invaded Iraq, a country that had absolutely nothing to do with 911. How long should we rats stay on board?
