Anyone have or know where I can find a replacement screen for an old IBM thinkpad i series 1200 notebook?

    Thanks,

  2. Not sure if you will be able to find one but why not try Lenovo's web page. Considering they are out in morrisville,,,, just a thought

You don't know how many sites I've been too (lenovo being the 1st)... It's rediculous, but it is an old laptop so I shouldn't expect much.

  4. you could also maybe try www.ibm.com and do a search on your laptop. It might give you a link to the proper lenovo page. I just left doing hardware support at ibm and alot of times i was looking for some drivers ant it would take me to lenovo pages

The I Series 1200 had 3 model series and 10 revisions to each series. That makes 30 different models \ series \ revisions. You'll have to be more specific on your model.

Look on the unit for a 7 digit number that starts with either 1161 or 2666 or 2667. Example 1161-21F.

More than likely many of the 30 probably use the same screen. If you do find a screen, before you buy it, make sure you pull the old one and verify the part number on it against the replacement.

Are you sure it's the LCD? Could it be the backlighting or the inverter? Eitherway, if you replace the LCD you should do the B/L at the same time.

    You're right

Yes, it's an 1161 41U... Didn't want to get that deep until someone responded. It's not the LCD, but the screen housing/case. It's got a good sized crack near the hinge which is really annoying.

Change your search on the web for a "1161-41U bezel". You should find tons of them.

Bezel!!! Why didn't I think to use that search?! Thanks! I'll let ya know if I find any, and where.

Actually, I'll need the bezel and the back of the LCD (top when closed) too.
