Hey have you noticed that Edy's ice cream is going from 1.75 qt to 1.50 qt? The containers are shorter, I sure didn't hear anything about a shorter price

ALL the ice cream companies are doing that. We noticed it a while ago... they're keeping the prices the same, just giving us LESS for it. They did it a few years ago too, went from 2 quarts down to 1.75. Now they're going from 1.75 to 1.50. I'd rather pay a little more for the larger sizes, the kids go through ice cream so fast as it is. :x

Guess it was either higher prices or less ice cream. Heard on news that same is happening in rstarurants-smaller portions, etc.

I know, but it's like they don't think we are smart enough to notice, it's sorta insulting. I guess I would rather they just up the price too, at least that would be more honest.

they (all food manufacturer's) have all done it. Cereal, chips, poptarts, all that stuff. price went up, size went down.

It's happened with tissues too. The box is the same size, but if you pull out the tissue and lay it on top of the box, you'll see that it is about 1/2 inch shorter than it used to be - there is a gap when they are inside the box. I first noticed this with Puffs, and I was so angry paying a brand-name price for less product, that I switched to the store brand at Lowes, RiteAid, Walgreen. But then I discovered that they also had cut the size of their tissues 1/2 inch. But at least they are cheaper.
