Anyone know what's going on in the Cleveland area to celebrate the 4th? Fireworks? Music? Any other family oriented events?
Looks like nothing's posted on the local calendar yet. Maybe the volunteers who are working on it could post the times & places of those events that are known, like the pancake breakfast and the parade.

Just wanted to let you all know that Stone Creek Band (my DH's band) will be playing immediately after the opening ceremony as well as from around 7 pm until fireworks. Obviously, I will be there and would LOVE to meet those of you who I have not yet met as well as see you "old timers" again! We could have a "4040er's Reunion"! Anyway, come on out and have a great time with us. The guys really wanted to do this on a volunteer basis just to get involved with the community! :grouphug:
I know they are playing in the JCC Cleveland Campus parking lot like the bands have in years past. I also understand that other entertainment has been lined up. I will try and find out more details and let you know! I am so glad they were able to continue on with the tradition this year. It would have been ashamed to let it go with how rapidly the community is growing!
Cool, fill us in on the details when you know them, we had a great time that time that Birdy's band played and saw so many 4042ers:hurray:
Thanks, PG! I have never been to one of these 4th of July events in Cleveland, I'm so looking forward to it. It's great that your hubby & his band are donating their time and talent for the community.
I had a blast then as well! I will keep you posted! I should know more in the next couple of days!:hurray:
Ummm...I think they are booked at your place the end of August!! Then again in early Oct. I wish sooner!!! I had soooo much fun! :hurray:
Okay...need some help. The guys usually play at venues with lights already there! Since the celebration is so last minute, no outside lighting has been secured. This is not a problem for early in the day, but hmmm....night could be an issue! Anyone out there have access to stage lights that could be used for Cleveland's 4th celebration? Thanks!!
Quick question, can you describe the events in a little more detail. I heard other people discussing this a few years ago... but I thought we might trek out there for the parade and celebration. I was under the impression that the parade allows children to decorate their bikes, etc and be a part of the parade.... is this true? What is a walk on ball game? And what kid of things do they have at the celebration? I have a 7yr old son and would like a little more info. Thanks inadvance!
It has been quite a few years since I attended the actual parade and have never entered, so I'm not sure how to answer that one! Anyone know?? In the past, they have had blow up, bouncy things, various vendors/booths, face painting, and other typical small town carnival-type things for kids. I will do my best to get more details!
Yes, this is true. Bring your bike, your wagon, your tractor, your golf cart, your go-cart, whatever you have that you can decorate. Or just walk!
Oh, that's cool! My hubby wants to participate! Do you just show up a few minutes before and get in line? Or do you contact someone first and tell them you want to be in it?
I believe the 'line-up' is at 9:30am - I don't think you have to contact anyone ahead of time for bikes and stuff, floats- probably yes.
