    Nope you're not alone.

We haven't gotten ours either. I called and the recording said that if you submitted your return on or after April 15th the is the possibility of a delay.

We usually file extensions until about October then pay then... because we always have to pay. But this year our accountant said to get a check we had to file early even if he estimated our payment by comparing last year's return. Anywho we sent ours out right at 5pm on April 15th.

I'm not holding my breath. I figured they just ran outta money.

Here's another member who has not received hers. Maybe you two can gang up on the IRS. Good luck.

WOW!! Glad but sad to know I am not alone!!! I actually spoke to a human voice for 2 hours about mine after getting the run around for weeks. I am in a unique category that bascially means in IRS lingo "You are so Screwed!!!"

I owed a small amount ($19.00) of money this year. I mailed paper returns. These two items already put me at a disdavantage according to them because those due refunds and thise who filed electronically get proessed first, however, they promptly cashed my $19.00 check and as the CSR for the IRS said "put my return aside" Yes she actually said that!!!

Now my other unique category is that not only did I owe and mail returns but we had 2 months of Cobra coverage, which if you supply to the proper documentation you can receive a credit for some of what you paid. however, this throws my return into a whole nother review category.

Supposedly, my payment ($19.00) is not officially posted until mid-june even though it is cashed, then it is 4-6 weeks BEFORE they will review my paper return from that point on and THEN because I have Cobra it is another 12 weeks before I will be mailed my Stimulus check!!! So the moral of the story is maybe next year I will see it!!!

Gotta love the Government - I pay them all year then they say no pay us more - then they say even though you paid on-time and we are cashing your check - we are not processing your stuff until we feel like i!!!!

    For extension filers
If you filed Form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return, you must file your tax return by Oct. 15, 2008. Processing times for tax returns and stimulus payments vary.

If you’re getting a regular income tax refund, the IRS will send you that refund first. Your separate stimulus payment should follow one to two weeks after you receive your refund. If you’re not expecting a regular tax refund, it will generally take a minimum of eight weeks after you file your return to get your stimulus payment.

If You Filed After April 15
If you filed a tax return after April 15 to claim your stimulus payment, it will generally take up to eight weeks after you filed to get your stimulus payment.

    I HATE THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!

So after I post this earlier this week I go and look at my bank account this morning and low and behold there is a deposit from the IRS but it is $400+ less than it should be for a stimulus check. I have been through 5 reps and on the phone now for an hour and a half. All they have said is that the notes say I did not qualify for the Health Care Tax Credit (Cobra) and they have TAKEN $400+ from my stimulus check!!!

First of all we did qualify for the HTCC according to the tax return program when I punched all the information in and second even if we did not qualify this was not money owed!!!! It was supposed to be a credit towards the $700+ we paid in Cobra Coverage last year but they have TAKEN it from us.

I have already beeen through 5 reps and the Taxpayer Advocacy Hotline (which is a joke!!!)

    CAN ANYONE HELP!!!!!!

If you received $400 in credit on your taxes then that would have been $400 less you would have had to pay or $400 more they would have owed you back in a refund. If you did not qualify for that credit but included it in your tax returns anyway then that is money owed back to the IRS. Maybe I'm missing something here, but it sounds like IF you didn't qualify for the credit then they did right and took it out of what they were giving you in stimulus money. If they had given you the full stimulus amount they would have just sent you a request for the error later. The way they did it just ensured they got their cut.

You are correct!!! After two hours and 8 reps later that is exactly the situation. The reason I was haing an issue with it was becuase 2 of the 8 reps said the credit I applied for did not affect my actual return amount owed so if that had been the case then they would have been taking $400+ dollars I never owed. I finally got a straight answer but they are clueless!! I called a number that was given to me by rep number 7 who absolutley swore up and down that the people at this number could assist and would givew me ALL the answers. I called the number and after a long hold time and the woman who answers says, oh no we cannot do that here you need to call this number, which was the exact number of the place who promised me these people had all the answers. Well I hung up and called this same number back and got a different person who proceeded to walk through the entire thing with me. So low and behold that was the right number but the first person was clueless as to thier job!!!

Well just when you think its over....It's not!!!!

Got home today and there is a bill from the IRS for the exact amount they have taken from my Stimulus check to cover the fact I did not qualify for the tax credit. So now I will have to spend another two hours on the phone making sure I can ignore this notice since they already took the money from my stimulus check.
