In case some of you weren't aware...there is a tornado warning in effect for our area until 5:00 this afternoon. It appears they may have already had one down by Fayetteville heading NE earlier this morning, everyone be careful!

Actually that is a watch not a warning that we have until 5pm. There is a warning in Harnett county til 10:15 though. Wed, don't worry, I'm here for ya! LOL

Right, thanks for the correction. I was typing quickly, just wanted to get my point across. Looks like it's almost out of this general area and moving to the east. So if you're in Wilson, Rocky Mount, Smithfield, that area, it's coming to you next.
Just saw/heard this on NBC The National Weather Service in Raleigh issued a tornado warning for Johnston and Sampson County until 11:15 a.m. and a tornado watch for much of the area until 5 p.m. At 10:42 a.m., NWS Doppler radar indicated a tornado over Spivey's Corner, or 18 miles southeast of Lillington, moving northeast at 17 mph. Locations impacted include Four Oaks.
Well, ya'll know if there is a tornater close by I'll be the first one to spot it. Us redneck boys always are. The trailers must attract 'em. I'll let ya'll know!
I hope I didn't offend you by correcting you, I'm just proud of myself for finally get the watch/warning thing straight after all these years! LOL
No, I wasn't offended, could tell from your post you weren't offending! And yes, it took me a while to get the two straight too. But a warning is definitely worse than a watch, we were/are under a watch all day today, were under a warning for a few minutes before lunchtime today.
Think of it this way (it helps me remember which is which)... With a watch, you can go outside and "watch" for it to come. A warning, in effect, says "don't watch, take cover".
"I'm WARNING you to stay inside and take cover." "I'm WATCHing to see if it's gonna get any worse outside." Those are my phrases to remind me of which is which.
