France rejected the war because... A. they were making 20-some billion in weapon sales to Iraq B. they were Iraq's #2 trading partner, second only to the Russians and C. In opposing our stance on Iraq's "supposed" weapons, they tried to diminish the US's power and influence in the world. In all three categories, they lost. Just a simple statement from a redneck... but what does a country boy know anyway? I still say, let them have :allears: OBAMA
Really? I just wanted Sarah Pallin....again the reason is she so cute and hot, lovely. I wish she is running for president not the old man.
Let me get this right. You folks are OK with the war in Iraq because you'd rather we fight the terrorists "over there" than at home. Yet, you complain about our vets making that same sacrifice fighting a greater evil in World War II. Those "sniveling cowards" paid a dear price against the Axis. As did some of my relatives. I don't question their patriotism or call to service. Nor do I that of those serving today. So which side of your mouth are you speaking from now?
So, we're selling arms to Saudi Arabia, you know,m the place that most of the hijackers of the 9-11 planes came from. Now, apparently we're the ones deep into the economy of Iraq. How's that working for us? And, finally, no nation can diminish our standing. Your hero George W. Bush did that. Just a simple response from a son of a Marine, born and raised in small town NC, and a proud paratrooper who also served my country in both war and peace.
Thank you for your service and the service of your father. You guys are my heroes. :hurray: And you are right, the US is planning to sell around 20 billion bucks worth of weapons to six Persian Gulf states. And yes, the bulk of the arms would go to Saudi Arabia. But you failed to mention the other five states... you just focused on Saudi cause it would hit a nerve with 9-11 coming up. Anyway, the plan from "the Bush people" states that the sale of weapons will help the United States’ most important allies offset Iran’s military power and influence in the region. Wrong move, maybe so. I'm just an old redneck boy so I hope that the folks above me know what they are doing. I'm not countering your argument, just adding the facts to your statement.
OK, OK, you've been playing us this whole time with your "trailer" this and your good ole boy that. Come on tell us the truth........you live in a doublewide don't you?......... If you say you have underpinning too, well I just don't know if I can sit in the upper deck with you at the Canes game. Who are you? It's like I don't even know who you are anymore............hehehehe.
And just how many French people have you met? Spend much time there? I did. I've also trained with French Military. And they're as good as ours. Yet, you still didn't address the dichotomy of your logic? Never mind, I feel as if I'm trying to wrestle with a pig in the mud. I'll stop and get cleaned up. You enjoy the mudbath. Have you even considered your own internal response and internal dialogue if (I think when, but I want you to respond to the central question) Obama gets elected?
Okay, you caught me. I bought one of them old overflow trailers from the school system and added on... so now I got a single and a half wide. I mostly got underpinning too, 'cept on the corner where the dogs go in and out. Sleep tight my friends. I'll be munchin on left-over tater-tots and then it's off to bed.
PRM, I have adjsuted my "underwear stick in the wad" mode. My passions got the better of civil debate and common sense. For appearing dense, I will apologize. As for today, I'm stopping the rhetoric as I think we must remember and honor those who lost their lives when we were attacked on 9-11. I pray that the Lord will bless and help us to protect this nation. And, thank you all, for your patriotism. We agree that there are problems that need solving. We disagree on how.
A Place To Remember Will any of us every forget where we were when the planes starting hitting the buildings on 9/11? I won't. I was at work. My daughter called and asked if I had heard. I cut the news on. Every channel was the same, I thought I was watching a replay and it was actually the 2nd plane crashing into the 2nd tower. The hair stood up on my arms. Then when the 1st building fell, I got my pocketbook and went home. I stayed on the couch and watched tv for 48 hours, still laying there hoping they would find people alive....... afraid to cut ithe tv off or go to bed......wringing my hands and praying..... where were you?
I love it when differences come together for the common good. Reminds me of the days following 9-11-01. We stood together united and our National pride disputed the hopes and intentions of our attackers. Our knees may have trembled for a spell, but we never buckled.
