I feel like a real dufus, but I can't figure this out and I don't see the answer in IPods for Dummies (yep - I went and checked it out.) I started purchasing music and ripping CD's into a library on PC#1, but am having trouble with the CD/DVD drive, so I switched over to purchasing and ripping on PC#2. I know I can share the libraries as the PCs are on the same network, but I don't seem to be able to sych the iPod so that it has the music from both libraries. Do I have to repurchase the music on PC2 in order to get everything onto my iPod? Help!!

you should be able to log onto the itunes store if you are on a PC on the planet mars, and link to your personal music account and transfer music to any ipod.

Yup - I can do THAT

I'm not that far gone. I can synch my iPod, but only with ONE library and I now have TWO - one on each PC. If I synch Library ONE, the playlists in Library TWO are erased off the iPod and vice versa. I want to get everything from both libraries on one place without having to repurchase songs from L1. Thank you for your kind attempt to help without making me feel small and stupid though - I really appreciate it.

there is a way to do it....when you plug in the ipod, and it asks you to register it or log it in (not sure of the terminology) there are several options at the bottom of the page that are 'checked' or 'unchecked' cant remember without the screen in front of me, I think you check that you want to sync the ipod with others. I will try and remember to look tonite when I get home. It can be done.

ok, on the main page of itunes store, there are 5 tabs at the top of the page, click on 'SUMMARY' with your ipod plugged in the computer....the main page for that ipod should come up....at the bottom of the page under 'options...you should have checked choice one, three and four. that should work and you'll be able to manage both lists and get them on your ipod. hope that makes sense....hope that solves the problem

Sounds more elegant than the method I used. I just copied all of my music library to the one PC that I sync to.

Then I choose Add Folder from the File menu for the folder I dumped the music files in.
