I'll admit my lack of knowledge up front so it will make it easy! I have an old computer. Windows ME, never had many problems, don't use it for anything "heavy duty", hard drive has been replaced once and thats about it. For some reason I have no sound! I don't normally have sound on except when I receive an ecard with music. Last time I remember was about a month ago. Last night I realized there is absolutely no sound!! I've checked all connections, I have "Windows Media" that was updated (thats the only thing I know how to check!) but I just have no sound.....any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
If the PC is old enough to be running ME you probably just have a worn out sound card. Tiger Direct has some pretty cheap cards and if you google "How to install a sound card" you'll get a hit with pic's and blow by blow instructions.
Thanks, ddrdan. I may load up this "old girl" and make a trip to Tiger. I have a friend who took her PC to them and they added memory while she waited. I probably should buy a new PC, but until this one dies.....I'll probably stick with it! Thanks again!!
same thing happened to me and so,I plugged my speakers into my stereo system, and I took them to my daughters and plugged them into her computer and my speakers were gone. I had to buy more speakers.
