I have, or should I say, did have Internet Explorer. Now, I cannot open it. I can click on another icon on the desktop (Rhapsody for example) and can bring it up, but I don't have a browser to bring a web page up. My husband said he is going to uninstall the internet explorer and try to reinstall it. Good thing?? I am so not computer savvy!! Thanks!
If you are using Win XP and Zone Alarm and it hasdon the SP3 update, the settings in Zone Alarm will create a loss of IE.
Zone Alarm is a free fire wall app you can download; here is a link to a work around if you do have zone alarm http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/pressReleases/2008/LossOfInternetAccessIssue.html
For future reference, if you're asking a PC question it's a good idea to include in your question all the data on your PC. What Operating System? What Is the current Service Pack on the OS? What Firewall & Virus Software? Which browser or 'browsers' and what versions? Don't ever be afraid that your giving to much info on your PC when asking a question. Think of it this way, you just asked me to tell you how to fix your car and you left off the make, the model, and the year.
click on start run and type in iexplore.exe. if it comes up, its still there and installed you merely lost your shortcut or desktop program group. If its there, you can now right click on your desktop and say create shortcut pointing to iexplore.exe.
