Is there any way that you can use a email address and find out where it was sent from? Or just a general area? Sheri
You can if you are able to decipher the email headers. You would get the IP of the sender or source and do a whois or trace. Email headers can be spoofed pretty easily though. Trev
I had a friend who used to be able to do that for me. I would forward him a copy of the email and then we could tell me approximately the location of the sender. My friend passed away of cancer about a year ago and I never did know exactly how he did it. I do know that we was an internet geek who knew the workings of the internet backward and forward. I know that the key is in the email address's IP address.
I haven't been over there there in a long time, hard to keep up with both working full time lol. Sheri
If by general you mean North Carolina, then I agree. If you mean narrowing it down to a town, I'll have to disagree. Unless you know something I don't?
No I don't, but it doesn't matter now..cause I know where this person is..just need a address now. Sheri
