    Hi everyone!

I hope someone will know the answer and help me out here. I have not had to commute since moving here over a year ago, I worked at home and then not at all. I am going to have to commute to Corporate Center Drive in Raleigh. I need to go 40 W to exit 290, State Hwy 54 toward Cary. I only need to go about 1 and 1/2 miles off the exit. Turning onto Chapel Hill Rd and then Corporate Center Drive.

I need to get there by 8 am. First I will drop off one child at Kids Clubhouse on 40, then one at daycare off of Guy Road, hit Rt 70 Bus from there to 40 W.

Any idea how long it will take? What time I should leave my house??

    Thanks!
    K

Be on 40 there at 70 by 7:00 to make sure your not late and then adjust it from there. It should take you about 35-45 minutes. give or take traffic

I would agree with seabee on this one. Be at the 40/70 split by 7-7:10 and adjust from there.

I live off of Polenta and where I work out of is in Cary off Exit 290. I travel this route EVERY day and on a regular traffic day it takes 40-50 mins to arrive @ that exit. But Beware of any dreaded slowdowns, accidents, etc...... this can easily add onto your commute to be 1 hr or more. I always find the traffic backs up going 40 west towards Raleigh Exit 300 right after 7:00 A.M. if you hit the road after 7 you will be stuck in this backup as well as the backup before Rt 1/ 64 off ramps. That area is always a backup in the morning. Some days when I know that the traffic is really backed up, I will head towards 50 and shoot down 1010 road and cut onto Lake Wheeler Rd. to get through the B.S. but this ride does take a good 45-1 hr to navigate. Good Luck and welcome to my nightmare of the morning commute.

    Thank you all!

I guess I should have also asked, how long will it take to get back to Guy Rd. in the evening if I leave work at 5pm? About the same?

Oh, I am so dreading the commute,

    Thanks

Some days the aftrenoon /evening commute is just as long, other days it may be shorter. I find that Fridays and days where there is no school or state holidays are easier to commute to Cary Area.

Most of the back-ups start back at Airport exits at pm commute... you should still be in the 35-45 min range.. sometimes a little back up at the 40E split
