I need to get 20 yards of triple shredded mulch. I just started calling around this morning. The few places I called delivery is free if you get over 12 yards, so I am fine there, the price was around 21 with tax. Anyone know where I can get it for less?

Thankfully, my beds are good with the leaf mulch from the yard waste center in Raleigh - it's buy one get one - I need just a few more loads and I'm set

heard it 2nd hand didn't pay attention or ask why at the time... my bad... time will tell... I do think for a quality triple mulch 21 bucks is a fair price.

That's what I paid at Red Barn the other week. Same results from calling around.

Who did you end up picking to deliver your mulch?

I heard last week that mulch prices are going up, I think around the beginning of April. Was told it's due to the supply factor. No one is taking down trees right now, because no one is putting in new developments or houses, so it's getting harder to get the mulch...or something like that! (I was only half-listening to the conversation) So I'd suggest you get it SOON before prices go up!

I went with Red Barn, that where I got it from the last 3 yrs, was trying to save money this year, but I don't think I can find it for anyless. I don't live to far from them, so if I got 12 yards or more , no fee to bring it to my house. Now I cannot wait to deal with the 20 yards I ordered next weekend :(

a hint on the quick way to handle... use a tarp... load it up and pull it where you need it. Either by foot.. or tractor/4-whlr grab it good and take off... I found it to be much quicker than a trailer or wheel barrow...

Great tip! We use tarps a lot for yard work but hadn't thought of this. Always use a wheelbarrow but this would be way easier on the back even with bigger loads!

That's a good tip..I'm trying to get rid of all the mulch in my backyard now. My dog tends to eat it and then coughs it up on my bed, or on the floor, or on the furniture. It is a lot of work...I'll be so happy when it is all gone and I can plant some grass seed!!
