Has anyone had a birthday party at Rainbow lanes? My DD wants to do her bday there this year but the pricing is difficult to understand and seems a little steep. If it is worth it, I dont mind paying. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!!
I don't know how much it costs now, but my daughter had a party there about 5 years ago. It was not cheap, but compared to how much I spend just to do a home party it was not that bad. I think I had some coupons to use too, which helped. I think I found them posted in one of the local fliers or on a flier my daughter brought home from school.
I had my boys birthday there....I thought it was affordable. I supplied the cake. they supplied pizza and soda's (and I think the paper products) and two games of bowling and it was under $100 for twin boys and 5 friends.....We had a big time!
We have had many b-day parties there. Its affordable and a good time. Best part is you don't have to clean up.
It's been a few years for me but the kids seem to enjoy it. The price seemed inline with most other birthday party places. The last time I was there the arcade needed a little attention, but they spend most of their time bowling anyway.
I had my son's birthday party there in March. It was $136....I supplied the cake, they supplied plain paper products, ice cream, soda, chips, one game of bowling for 5 kids & 2 adults and shoes for everyone. I rented the room---that was a waste, had I know you could just have it at the lanes I would have done that. I think it was probably about what I would have spent at home. The kids had fun so it was worth it to me.
SIL had nephew's birthday party there and, although the kids had a good time, we won't do one there. It is a little confusing with the pricing because everything is al a carte, but I guess that helps in giving you flexibility in tailoring a party for your needs and budget. Our issue was with the timing. They put way too many kids per lane and then only gave them an hour to bowl, so no kid got to bowl more than 4 turns and there was a lot of waiting for your turn. Also, there is a smoking area, which bothers us but may not bother others. They do a decent number of parties on the weekends, so you may want to stop in to observe a party before booking anything.
We had our oldest's there probably 4 years ago (when he was 5 or 6?) and we loved it. It gave the kids something to do, and adults could just hang out. Not recommended for young kids though, then it becomes too much like work! I can't remember how much it was, but sure it wasn't too much, or I wouldn't have done it, I'm too cheap! I know I used a coupon found in a flier too, I think that clipper one that comes around has them in it.
As of May there is no smoking in the bowling alley. They got a jump on the new law before it takes affect.
