It keeps openin' and shuttin and I caint get it to stop. It may have got some dr pepper in it by accident.

It aint affectin' the PC (as you can see by me being online all mornin) but it is very annoyin' and kinda freakin' me out a lil.

Is there a program that I can turn off to keep it shut?

    You should be able to
    right click on My Computer>
    Choose Properties>
    Click the Hardware tab>
    Click the Device Manager button>
Click the +box next to your CD-ROM Drive>
    Right click on the drive>
    Choose Disable

This should disable your CD-ROM drive.

Thx, I opened the PC and unplugged it from the MB. I got a few notifications pop up but at least it quit.

FYI... although the hole in a a CD-ROM drive was perfectly matched to hold a paper dixie cup, I would strongly suggest not actually using it as a cup holder.
