Yesterday I started having a problem with the internet. When I click on the icon to open internet explorer, a screen will come up and say 'connecting' then it disappears. If I right click on the IE icon I have "start without add-ons" in order for the iternet to actually open. Then some sites I try to go to I can't full access becuase it says "add-ons disabled." However when I go to "Manage add-ons" the list is completely "enabled." What is going on? How do I fix this??

    Thanks

Download Firefox and stop using IE, also make sure you have a good firewall and antivirus program.

When is the last time you cleared your "cache", "history", and "cookies"????

Right click your Internet Explorer icon. Choose Properties. If you don't get a "Internet Properties" box you'll have to start Internet Explorer and then click on Tools, and then Internet Options

From there you can delete your internet history, cookies, files, etc.. . Delete it all ... theres nothing there you absolutely positively can't replace.

It always helps to list what operating system, and the 'version' of your internet explorer you have when asking a question. Use the HELP menus to find how to get that info.

    I disagree. Two reasons why:

    1. If there's a browser / spyware hack in the IE, it stays there and is still actively communicating through the internet whether you use it or not.

    2. Compounding a software problem by loading identical use software on your PC doesn't solve anything. If you're not familiar with the preference settings, it could actually add to resource use and slow it down.

If you're one of those that swears IE sucks; open both browsers, go to 3 same sites with each, open task manager, tell me which one is using more resources.

Firefox is a good alternative to IE. But the concept of "just keep loading" till your happy isn't.
