**bows to the computer gurus** Way back when ... when I had OutLookExpress.. I could send pics. Just put them into the body of the email. I was smart enough to do that. **polishes knuckles on chest** But now that we have this "Windows Live" I can't do squat. Yeah, they've made a few things easier but it seems they've taken a few a things away. Like my ability to add a pic. :banghead: Now what? How do I add a pic in the body of the email, instead of or in addition to, putting it in as an attachment?
Ok ... weird... I looked in my "Sent" folder and it shows that the pic itself was sent in the body of the email...Does that mean that the recpiant saw it too? without having to download it?
yes, it went. Attach your pictures as a "file" (as opposed to photo on the attach drop-down ) that way its attached and in the body of the recipients email. I have the lovely windows Live too.
well... when I sent the email out the recipients said they didn't have the pic in the body of the email or even an attachment to download. BUT I also sent it to my self to see what would happen. It was in mine, in the body and as an attachment.. So I forwarded the SAME email to them again and the second time they saw it. I'm think the problem is on their end.
Just a note: For security reasons you shouldn't put a picture in the body, and, you should have your own email set to 'not' auto-show pictures in the body of received email. When a picture is emailed in the body it will open automatically. Any pic file containing malware will then activate when it is opening on the recipients PC. Including the pictures as a file attachment gives the recipient the chance to scan the files prior to opening.
Most antiviruses will remove an attachment with certain file extensions. Also. Outlook will remove pictures period unless you can set policy locally for outlook. Work around for outlook. rename the file with no file extension. Just send a note to recipients to rename the file to what ever it was before.
