We are in the process of getting quotes. Anyone know of a company they trust or maybe one I haven't thought of? This will be term insurance for both my husband and I. Given our situation, this would have to be a very, very high amount policy. We've called our agent w/State Farm and also called USAA(I'm a member). USAA will not insure a SAHM for more than $500K so they're out as we need way more than that. We have some insurance already on my husband but none on me yet. Trying to find decent rates and I have no huge medical concerns but am overweight a bit(working on that one!). Anyone who could direct me to a reasonable company it would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting quotes for 10 yr. term and 20 yr. term. Thanks in advance.

    Hey Steph,

We just got new life insurance ourselves.
Matt is great! He is one of Dave Ramsey's ELPs!!!

I think you will like him.

Term life has gotten very competitive so I would be surprised if you find a super great deal that is way better than anyone else. I would look more at company viability and longevity. Most smaller guys are just brokers and you'll end up getting a policy from a larger provider through them anyway.

I have mine through the Hartford.

I have ours with USAA and have been happy but that seems to not be an option for you due to the limits. Whatever company you do choose i recommend checking them out on AMBest.com to see their rating. Nothing is ever a guarantee. But it can help to eliminate any that may have a poor rating which can often explain why they offer cheaper insurance.

USAA is supposed to be very good and very reasonable insurance. Could you get the $500K polciy form them and then another policy from another company? I have no idea if that's allowed or not since I have no need for anything like that.

Dave Wright-Capital Insurance. 571-0685. We've used them for 11 years, have ALL personal and business policies with them. Got other quotes last year, and no one touched their prices.

you need to talk to Polentamafia, i can honestly attest that he has gotten us the best rates on all our insurance and is the best at what he does and he is local. i was in the insurance business for 8 years and i never experienced the kind of customer service and honesty i have experienced with him:hurray::hurray::hurray:

Thanks a bunch!!! I have to read & start calling for sure. I think I have Wednesday off. I was very bummed USAA wouldn't budge on a bigger policy. But, 10 kids, a full time nanny if not two, would have to be hired. LOL. This is great advice and I did not even know about the ratings website so that helps too. We've been extremely horrible about this part of our lives....lack of proper life insurance. Figured I'd better get my act together. This has been very, very helpful and we hope to have policies in place by the end of next month. I'll let you know eventually what we all found out too as maybe it will help others deciding.
