OK, i am getting alittle ticked off, Everytime I put in a website, I get redirected to another website and can't get to the website i put in. What do i need to turn off or turn on or whatever?
You very likely have a malware infection which is causing you to be redirected to the other sites. There's a number of programs you can use to detect and clean up the problem...one of the most effective is Malwarebytes, You can download their free version at: http://www.malwarebytes.org/ Note: We have found a number of PC's where the "infection" monitors for programs like Malwarebytes and prevents them from being downloaded and installed. If you find that you can't download the program, or, that it disappears after you install it, you will need to take other measures. Hope that helps.
Sometimes in cases such as this simply renaming the downloaded file to something else such IE or Seer can get you around the problem listed above.
Turn off "System Restore". (Steps for: XP, Vista, 7) Reboot in SAFE mode with networking. (Hit F8 repeatedly BEFORE the Windows logo/loading screen appears.) Download Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. Do an anti-virus and anti-malware scan and let them do their cleaning. If desired, turn system restore on. (Steps for: XP, Vista, 7) Reboot. (No need to press any keys, "Normal" mode is what you want.)
proxy It sounds like the virus took the liberty of changing the proxy setting on you browser, thus the odd results for each search. Unfortunately, deleting the virus will not correct the proxy settings and may lead to re-infection. If you are using Explorer, the proxy settings can be found under the tools pull down, internet options, connections, LAN settings. I use Google Chrome for the most part so don't shoot me if I have the exact IE instructions wrong. Also, the restore option may re-store virus based registry settings. I like to use spybot then and then Malware in safe mode. All after restoring default proxy settings. Good luck
