Personally, I don't need a workout partner. I like to work out alone. Yes, its nice to chit chat for a minute when you get there or leave or in the locker room. But when I am "up in the gym just workin' on my fitness" I don't want to talk or hangout. I want to git 'er done!!! :mrgreen:

I didn't take it negatively at all. Everyone is different. I do know a lot of people that only workout with a partner. I don't "need" a partner but I do have one. If it wasn't for her many years ago, I wouldn't even be reading this thread. We are not dependent on each other in any way other than positive reinforcement.

Do you run races alone? Just curious. I prefer to run with a partner and we usually race together as well. We challenge and motivate each other. It helps a lot when one of us is having an "off" day or may not feel like working out.

I like to help people take the first step to physical fitness.

I am all about helping someone get started, help with ideas, workout with etc. all about it. I just prefer not to hinge my workout out on another. Sometimes seeing a familiar face or tagging along with a friend is exactly what you need. Totally agree with all that.

I run alone. And this is my first(big) race. My husband is doing the full marathon, we are going together but will (obviosuly) run seperate. I think I would run with someone. I have done 5K's...start out with folks/friends, but always run at my own pace and we all meet up at the finish line.

I am volunteering that entire day for Operation Christmas Child. IF I hadn't already obligated, I would so do it. My favorite runs are cold weather ones. I don't do spring/summer one, it's too hot. =) Thanks for the info. though.
