ok, all you computer geeks, anyone know how to sync Outlook Mail to an Android phone? I got the calendar synced but cannot find a reliable way to sync the mail part of Outlook to my HTC Evo.
if the calendar syncs then both the contacts list and mail should sync as well as long as they are both set to sync.
You have to create a gmail account and "join" your regular email to the gmail account. Once you do that, you will be able to see your email on your phone as well as on outlook. Instructions are here: http://www.googletutor.com/using-gmail-as-your-universal-email-account/
Usually to get outlook mail on an android it has to come from an Exchange Server. Regular webmail has it's own option on the android. Yahoo, unless you are a premium member will not allow you to configure Outlook. Not sure about the others. Just not worth the time to setup outlook on an android unless it is exchange.
if you want to get really technical about it you can manually set-up each e-mail account seperately on your phone. (personally have mine done this way to prevent the mix of work/personal e-mails and their like accounts).
No, I don't use Outlook anymore. I now go completely through GMail. I don't put my company email with my personal, but I do have my email address that I've had for 17 years (give or take) which is now tied to my GMail account (If y'all have been paying attention, you know what that email address is). I can receive email no matter where I am or what (or even whose) hardware I'm using. If I read an email on my tablet and delete it, it's deleted from my phone as well. And when I send email, it's does not have a reply to address of ***.gmail.com. Finally, and this is what convinced me to go 100% GMail, they have one of the best spam filters I don't have to buy. Just to be clear for those who read this but don't quite understand. I have a GMail account, but I don't use my GMail address. I use the same email address I have used for years, I just read and compose through the GMail website/app, but still retain my old email address.
