Anyone have any advice what gym is the best in the area? Anywhere from 4042 towards Clayton. Looking to join somewhere but don't know which one is the best in the area as far as price, equipment and customer service?
Are you looking for a women's or coed gym? If looking for a woman's gym, i highly recommend Body Contours at 4042 - Dana is great, they have free child care, circuit training, free weights, etc plus specialized classes.
Well Co-ed I mean I wouldn't mind a womens gym except I doubt I would get much accomplished other then site seeing.
Not sure what type of gym you are looking for. If you are looking for a small gym then Fit-4-Life at 4042 is a pretty good place. If you are looking for a power lifter place then Clayton Fitness is where to go and Peak Fitness is a good middle of the road place (although it is beginning to lean towards power lifting).
Clayton Fitness is a good gym for everybody. It has programs for stay at home folks and seniors in the mornings and then something from teenagers up in the evenings. There are some powerlifters, but it is by far NOT the majority of the gym. They're big on kids too. The aerobics instructor said that Kid classes would be back for the summer. That'll be good for my lazy little one. I also like it because it's family owned and everybody kinda knows everybody.
Fit for Life is a nice clean GYm. Owner (CHad is very nice) located behind food lion off tech. drive.
Where can I get the most/best for my money? Looks like its between Fit for life, Peak and Clayton fitness.
Call Fit For Life. They have a link in the Find It Local part of 4042.com on the front page. Chad's been here for 8-9-10 years (can't quite remember), and I've been there for almost all that time. The gym is clean, the machines and weights are good, and staff is friendly. It's a true gym, so if you're looking for more of a fitness center it may not meet your needs. Frogger
Clayton Fitness has a racquet ball and a basket ball court I think. Fit for life and Peak would be the two cheapest, Chad does have a very nice place and I enjoyed it when I was there. Peak offers more stations to work out but is a bit less personable. Clayton Fitness is the biggest of the three and offers a ton of weights.
