Man Seriously Hurt In Game Of Russian Roulette
A Four Oaks man was seriously injured while trying to talk friends into playing a game of Russia roulette. The game is played by placing a bullet in one of several chambers of a gun, spinning the cylinder, then closing it. Participants then aim the revolver at their own heads and pull the trigger. That’s what happened to 23-year-old Joseph Durand Grace Jr. of Highway 701 South on Friday night. Sheriff’s detectives said Grace put the gun to his head the first time and the weapon didn’t fire. While demonstrating it to a friend a second time, the weapon fired, striking Grace in the head. He was transported to Pitt Memorial in Greenville with serious injuries. Johnston County deputies are still investigating, but officers said the shooting appears to be as a result of the potentially deadly game.

I've not been able to get the link to 1270wmpm to work for some time. I've been able to access the site by typing the web address in.

and you're right, it doesn't work. It apparently goes to a page that is not functioning.

 

it's a bad link, that's all. the station is actually 1090 wtsb now, even though they still have www.1270wmpm.com setup as a redirect to their current site. all other links to 1270wmpm.com are dead. hit the main page, click the local news link. the address doesn't change, a la the classifieds here. if you try to link to an individual ad, it just links to the main classifieds page. look for them to be using a new web address soon....

it seems the lamm family took their programming/news and bought themselves a station outside of the previous ownership of wmpm (which remains under the same ownership, new management, from what i can tell). that website (www.1270wmpm.com) will probably go back to that actual radio station eventually, after the lamms' registration expires maybe, or after enough time has passed to where they feel like everybody knows where to find them now...

 

just to finish this up for those who might care, 1270 wmpm the actual radio station broadcasting content (including all this local news) is now on 1090. 1270 was silent for about a month, but is now back on the air with some kind of "sounds of the 70's and 80's" music format.

i guess most of y'all didn't listen to the actual station so much as hit the local news page of the website, same as me actually. you'll need to update your bookmarks
