If you have HBO and are not already doing so I would I highly recommend that you Tivo/watch this miniseries. The Miniseries is based on the book by David McCullogh and is well done, highly entertaining and historically accurate based on my own readings.

I have just finished watching the first two episodes presented last week, and are currently in heavy rotation, for the second time and probably will watch them a third time. The third episode will be Sunday at 9pm.

First episode the Boston Massacre and Concord.

Second Episode was based on the Declaration of Independence.

I recently read a book about 'The Boston Massacre', and I found it amazing how much it had in common with the shootings at Kent State.

I agree this mini series is outstanding. It should be a lesson to all of us on how precious a gift or freedom is and at what cost it was gained, I am convinced that Paul Giammatti could play anybody.

I got into it when I watched one episode. It figures it happend the day before our free preview of HBO ended.:x
At first it was hard for me to get used to Paul Giammati playing Adams. If you have seen him in 'Big Fat Liar', you would understand. But he was great as Adams.

Hught, you should have a John Adams Night and invite those of us w/o HBO over to watch.

Well it is a "dry" household, so no Samual Adams will be served! ;)

    then count me out!

Seriously, I only saw the first episode, and it was the best thing I've seen on TV in a long time. I'll have to wait for the History Channel to pick it up, like they did with Band of Brothers, probably the last good thing that was on TV.
