Returned from vacation after a week and found most of the HD channels I pay for were gone without a trace. I pay 20.00 extra a month for the HD package, gone were Kung Fou,Monster, Gallery,FilmF, World Cinema,Rush, Treasure Seekers, and more.These channels were really what I got the package for in the first place. When I called Dish I was told that they were replaced by, Disney HD, ESPN@, TLC, Dicovery, A&E. Now these channels are just doubles of what I was getting anyway, and I could care less if they are in HD or not.A&E has gotten so it is just a rerun channel for other channels. I asked the guy how they could just change things without asking people, he said because people haved called in and wanted these changes. BS, I find it hard to believe that lots of people called in and wanted Disney to be in HD. I wonder how they can claim I am getting 200 channels, is it because I now have two Chinese, an Arabic, Indian, Korean, and not to forget all the Spanish ones. I don't speak any of these languages. It is bad enough that we have to pay for HD in channels that broadcast in them. I am going to get out of this contract, and then the only Dish in my life will be the one I eat from.
I have direct TV at home, and dish at my cabin. I am not at the cabin that much, but I seem to like it better. I only have basic though, don't pay for extra channels or anything. they also seem easier to work with on the phone, and seem cheaper. But that would make me mad if the channels I was paying extra for just disappeared.
i love dish network. only issue we have really is the lack of speed in HD... but thats mostly because murdock owns speed and directv, so they get the exclusive.
