Our dog--which we keep well confined with both an electric fence for the entire property and a 6 foot wood fence for when we are not home has gone into heat (before anyone starts--we do plan to have her spayed). Yesterday, my neighbors little dog (male-un-neutered) squeezed through a small hole in my fence. Our dog weighs about 40 and the little one about 10. Do you think I need to worry that our dog may be pregnant? Is there a way to tell and can anything be done?

    Thanks

I've heard the female will posture herself down low for a shorter male, but can't say for sure since I've never seen it. To be on the safe side, if you don't want puppies, you might want to go ahead and schedule that spay ASAP!
