I need to have my windshield replaced. I live in Matthew's Farm subdivision, and I think there is a guy in the subdivision that has his own business doing that. Do any of you know who I'm talking about? I'd like to get his contact information. If not, do you know of anyone that will come to you and replace the glass?

Thanks, as always, for the help!!

Are you talking about Dash & Glass (or something similar, not sure that's the right name)? If so they are great folks and I would recommend them.

Since Hugh is working from his phone maybe I can help with the link to the gentleman's profile: http://www.4042.com/4042forums/member.php?u=8446

Hopefully, he'll check 4042 and to you soon.

    Good luck,

Judging by what she told me in the pm, it's a replacement otherwise I'd definitely recommend a repair. Usually anything over about a 6" crack is in need of a new one although I've done some pretty long cracks back in the day when I had the equipment.

It is definitely a replace. It may could have been a repair in the first week, but after a bump in the road, it upgraded to a replacement :) Mike, I will give you a call. Can I reach you at that number during the day? Thanks for responding so quick!

Yeah, I'm a very big proponent of repair instead of replacing. Given the quality of some of the techs out there, you are a lot better of repairing them if you can.

Sounds like your husband and I suffer from the same thing. The best cure is an extra long shirt tail.

Don't they fix cracks in windshields with cynoacrylates? If it works for windshields it may fix your problem too. Lets' see there is an easily accessed cynoacrylate product that my help called super glue. Give that a try and see if it dos not help the "big crack" problem. If you apply enough it will cure even more problems such as strange odors, but may create new ones too.

Super glue is an old wives tale. What we use is a special polymer that cures anaerobicly (in the absence of air) and thru uv exposure. It's a whole lot different than superglue.
