A friend gave me an old Ipod classic so that I could use it in my car till I can afford to by a new stereo. Well I am putting my CD collection into my PC so i can make play lists. Well I am up to the S's and come across Starship. And realize "well the heck is 'Red Octopus'" I know I listened to it a few months ago in my car on my way back from Oldsboro. I figured it fell under the seat of the car. I reach under both seats and look under all the floor mats. I walk back in side ticked off figuring I left it somewhere else and just can not remember.

For grins and giggles I go and sort Itunes by album and realize when 'Red Octopus' was released they were still Jefferson Starship.

i love to sort the itunes by how many times i play a song and by the date released. That really makes you feel like you're old, especially cycling thru the entire beatles albums!

Is there a way to move the songs FROM the IPOD to a computer? I haven't found a way with the standard ipod software. I built up my collection on several different computers and am afraid i'll lose everything if it goes down.

make a smart play list this way you can have songs you wont on it and always go and change out the songs when you get new songs added

There are apps out there that will move the files to a computer, but nothing made by apple. In my experience, iTunes(ucks) automatically removes all music from an iPod that does not exist on the local computer (this may have changed in recent versions as I've not used it in years).

WinAmp will let you copy files from an iPod to a computer. And there are other stand-alone apps that will do this as well. I actually have one copied to my iPod so I can "manage" and play my iPod's music from anyone's computer (Can't remember the name off hand).
