I don't know if it's related, but shortly after that, I-40 East was backed up heading towards McGee's Crossroads. Might have been an accident down that way.
there was an accident on I 40 East about 1/4 mile from the Cleveland School Rd Crossing over I 40....I was out doing job searches at that time and nearly got hit by a car trying to get out of the way of the Fire truck.... Didn't see clearly what happened, but they had both lanes shut down for a short while....

I-40 Accident Injures Four Children Traffic was backed up for several miles on I-40 near Highway 42 Tuesday afternoon after an eastbound Isuzu SUV ran off the interstate, traveled down an embankment and struck a group of trees. A female driver and four children in the SUV were transported by 50-210 and Wake County EMS crews to WakeMed for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
