An Ionna Charging station is opening at the old 76 station at 40/42 IONNA | Juicin' Up North America One Rechargery at a Time Another sign says Owl Mobility also there, but it looks like they might be the contractor who installs charging stations.
Any updates on construction next to Aldi on Hwy 42? Not across Son-Lan Parkway which was supposed to be a car wash at one point, but the lot directly abutting it.
Funny though, it used to be one property total and it looks like Aldi's subdivided it earlier this year. My guess is that they are leasing it to someone and they will build something small there. Usable space is just about an acre of that 3.6. The western edge is steep slopes and a utility easement. The back part is completely unusable.
I did also find this after some digging. This part of this property across the street from Aldi's is the new WaWa. It looks like they own two additional properties adjacent to it as well, no idea on what else is planned for those yet.
I saw on next-door that the land behind the Aldi's would be a discount tire. I haven't seen anything on my bid sites about that, and the shape of the lot, I don't think it would fit there.
I saw some of those as well and wonder if it's simply rumor. Seeing that Aldi still owns it i was curious if maybe they were just going to expand the parking lot, or perhaps even the building at some point.
https://corporate.aldi.us/real-estate/available-properties/ Aldi has a whole web page for their real estate opportunities, both vacant land and existing buildings. So renting their land to another business sounds completely reasonable. The Just Tires a block away is on less than an acre, so I guess a Discount Tire is conceivable.
Hwy 55 parent company files for bankruptcy Popular burger chain files for bankruptcy and sparks fears of mass closures | Daily Mail Online Hope it's a reorganization and not closings. The new one at 40/210 is always busy. the old one at 40/42 is always empty. I like their burger and cheesesteaks.
I don't think I've seen this before. A site offering properties near NC 42 and Old Drug Store Rd. We know that property 3 is the Wawa, and property 6 is the Pinnacle Storage. It says that property 4 is available, but I thought that was the new oil change place (where they've already built the below-ground room for draining a car's oil from below). Maybe I'm mis-estimating where that was, and the oil change place was actually property 5. (Edit: I was indeed misestimating the property lines. The oil change shop is property 5) So if properties 2 and 7 are leased, I'd love to know what's going in there. I don't think I've seen any details about those.
Id agrees that #4 is oil change place, as I'm pretty sure that is where the underground (oil change pit) is being built.
My construction bid site shows the expected start date for the chase bank as Sept 2025. Bidding early Summer 2025
So #7 is owned by "TIKI BAR BUILDERS, LLC", the company has existed for 5 years, and MAST law firm is somehow involved. But otherwise not sure if it will be a restaurant of some kind or a business building Tiki Bars.
Good catch, I never noticed that! And yes, Tiki Bar Builders just seems to be all the Mast Law Firm partners under a different business name. Very odd. All of those other properties are owned by a variation of "TRIPLE B #xx MAST LLC". Real estate, development, and law. Three very secretive and incestual institutions.
I took another look at the physical site and have changed my mind. I see now the oil change shop is actually property 5.
