i was wondering about those new entrances off of NC 42 (36) this shows how you can turn out. Those are some steep entrances/exits.

 

The site plans for the Starbucks show the driveway beside it being right-in/right-out only, with a median built on NC 50 to prevent left turns from southbound traffic.

 

makes sense, i don't see how you would turn out left from any of the 3 left turn exits. It would be hard

 

There are some comments on next-door that a Hwy 55 sign has went up near Aldi's. Anyone seen that? I think Wawa is going in the corner lot, wonder if Hwy 55 in one of the other 2. The exisitng one back by Mulligans is sad shape. No 50's music playing, unkept parking lot, etc.

 

I also remember seeing that Nextdoor post, and I had no recollection of seeing a sign like that. I made it a point to pay attention when driving by this afternoon, and there is no such sign. Nearby, I did see a Hwy 55 advertisement yard sign, just saying they had deals on burgers or something. Maybe someone just saw an advertisement yard sign and read too much into it.

This is indeed a Durham Rescue Mission thrift store, and appears ready to open. The clothing racks inside are well-stocked, and their computer/registers at the front are powered on.

 

Publix has updated opening soon sites thru July 18. Ours still not on the list. Still no final inspections approved inside. still, lots of work on those two entrances/exits off NC 42 (36). Looks like they are up to grade on drives and working on turning lanes.

Children Hospital (Duke/UNC) might be going on SAS land off Harrison. SAS has now bought all but 1 property along there,

 

I wonder when the construction of the mental health facility (by Wake Med and Wake county) is going to start over by Timber drive and White Oak. I vaguely remember hearing it was suppose to start in 2025.

 

the original article said starting 2024 completion 2026. i hadn't seen anything on it in construction bid web sites.
The mental health and well-being hospital will be the first facility constructed on the new campus. WakeMed officials anticipate construction will begin in 2024. It is expected to open in fall 2026. More information will be forthcoming as the facility completes various design phases.
